Where did Christ tell anyone that His Religion would be based on a book?

Couple of errors.

First off, Jesus didn't start a religion.

He already had one in the OT Law.

He came to set us free from that, not put us into bondage to a new one.

There is no law that can give life.

Second, better that our faith be based on the truth written down, preserved for all eternity without change, than the whims of human, fallible men.

What with the way Catholicism has changed and morphed over the centuries, there is simply no credibility to the claim that Catholics make that the church is infallible. It simply cannot be trusted to be consistent.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

So where is the word of mouth?

Ever read Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible?

Not a single quote you list tell us that “everything we need to know is found in Scripture.”

You can do a word search, though. Impressive.

“The Catholic Jesus is still being offered continually as a sacrifice.” NOT TRUE. If you want to talk Catholic faith, at least know what you are talking about

“Pretty clear Jesus Christ had a VERY high regard for His written and spoken words.” Really? What did He write down?

Your quotes describe the necessity for Jesus to fulfil all prophecies. Too bad the Protestants threw away the Book of Wisdom (Wisdom 2: 12-20).

>>But where did Christ tell anyone to write anything down?<<

Exodus 34:27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

Exodus 24:4 Moses then wrote down everything the LORD had said.

Jeremiah 30:2 "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.

Jeremiah 36:6 So you go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the LORD that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

Isaiah 30:8 Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

1 Corinthians 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

1 John 1:14 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. Not only to be written but to be read as well.

1 Thessalonians 5:27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

Revelation 1:19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Revelation 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

>>Where did Christ tell anyone that His Religion would be based on a book?<<

Revelation 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book (βιβλίον - biblion - a book), and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book (βιβλίον - biblion - a book), If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book (βιβλίον - biblion - a book): And if any man shall take away from the words of the book (βιβλίον - biblion - a book) of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book (βιβλίον - biblion - a book).

1 Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

“Sola Scriptura NEVER appears in Scripture. Why do you believe it?”

You continually post this question and it has been answered to you multiple times with Scripture.

Your posts continue to ignore the answers are repost the same question.

It doesn’t do a lot of good to ask questions when the answer is ignored.

It doesn’t do a lot of good to answer questions when the person ignores the answers.

May I ask why you are stuck in this posting loop???

Do you want to live this way on FR???

>>Wrong. I accept Scripture. just not Sola Scriptura<<

Your using Sola Scriptura for authority of the Church.

“Then just copy and paste the answer. Where is Sola Scriptura in Scripture? Cite Chapter and verse. And where did Jesus tell anyone to write anything? “

Been posted at least twice that I am certain of. Probably more.

If you will just check your account and go backwards, you can count the answers and let us know the exact account.

So just post the Chapter and verse that supports Sola Scriptura an I will go away

No, hearing the Word of God preached by an Apostle was the spoken Word of God.

>>“The Catholic Jesus is still being offered continually as a sacrifice.” NOT TRUE.<<

When does "sacrifice of the mass" not mean "sacrifice ofthe mass"?

"The word Mass (missa) first established itself as the general designation for the Eucharistic Sacrifice [http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10006a.htm]

"In truth, the Eucharist performs at once two functions: that of a sacrament and that of a sacrifice. [http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10006a.htm]

"The recipient of the one is God, who receives the sacrifice of His only-begotten Son; [http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10006a.htm]

You were saying?

That’s quite claim. I’d like to see that, because I’ve seen nothing but sophism from the Protestant side trying to defend their own creeds.

Really? That explains why i have never seen you post in all my years posting on the FR, which by God's grace has been extensive. And in which is RC sophistry that has been often exposed.

Including their fundamental premise than an infallible magisterium is essential to correctly know what the Bible consists of, and its meaning, and that being the historical instruments and stewards of that means Rome possess perpetual magisterial infallibility. Which is what is behind the recourse to the "we gave you the Bible" polemical assertion.

Care to defend that, and multitude others things not seen in the NT church?
