So Ted Kennedy is saved, and Bill Clinton is going to hell. That hardly seems fair.

With all the money the Kennedys have, they were able to pay enough indulgences to keep Ted from spending any time in Purgatory.

Protestants wouldn’t know Christmas without Rome.. they wouldn’t know good Friday without Rome. They wouldn’t know Easter without Rome..

Wouldn't know Halloween or Mardi Gras either.

I guess they will spend eternity together, where they do so will be a surprise to them both.

No kidding; my guess is they'll find far warmer than they expected.

Christ told us how to reach heaven, and it did not involve the Catholic Church.

The fact that God repeatedly distinguishes Peter in Sacred Scripture as unique from the other Apostles is further Scriptural evidence (in addition to Jesus' clear statement of intent recorded in Matthew 16:18) that He has chosen Peter to lead His Church.

If we are to believe that, we must also realize that Peter's church consisted of Jewish believers...Peter's commission was to preach to the Jews...

You guys ignore the fact that it is Paul who was chosen to lead the church of the Gentiles...It is Gentiles who make up the vast, vast majority of Jesus' church...The Roman Catholic religion is a Gentile religion...

Act 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Jesus spoke this about Paul...Jesus never said anything like this to or about Peter or any other apostle...You are following the wrong pope...Your popes are following the wrong pope...

And what's even more interesting is that none of your popes follow what Peter taught...And they clearly don't follow what Paul taught...But what your popes do claim is that even tho they don't follow Peter nor Paul, that somehow the scriptures gave them (your popes) the authority to create it's own scriptures and ultimately its own church outside of the scriptures...To create a religion that is in opposition to the scriptures based on snippets of scripture along with pagan rituals and practices along the way...

The best thing you could do is to step away from the Catholic catechism, pick up a bible and read the New Testament without Catholic influence...And pray a lot to Jesus while reading...

My haven’t we got some thin skin, using bold now.

Try reading what I write slowly. YOU are claiming authority to make stupid, inappropriate, unfounded assertions based on tiny snippets of text from the bible and now you have the nerve to start putting words in my mouth.

I and many others here do not recognize you as an authority to make such claims. Again, what are your credentials to make such claims? You haven’t presented any thus far so I still do not have any reason to believe anything you have to say on the subject. I have given you the opportunity to present your credentials and you have failed to do so.

Feel free to misdirect, obfuscate and blather ad nausea but it only serves to further discount your conclusions.

Based on the Roman Catholic Catechism there is salvation for the Muslims.

Yes. Christ's Church teaches that there exists the possibility of salvation for anyone who is ignorant of Christ, through no fault of his own, yet tries to do good and follow truth to the best of his ability, since such people are implicitly following Christ, who is Goodness and Truth Itself.

Christ's Church teaches nothing of the sort -- the Roman Catholic Cult teaches it; and it is a heretical false gospel. Try reading Ephesians chapter 2. Grace saves, not works we do. Ever. we could NEVER do enough to "earn" heaven.

While you're at it, read John 6:44 where Christ himself says:

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

The Father draws to Christ ... We don't (and can't) do anything!

So tell me--does the Roman Catholic Church/Cult TRUMP God Almighty himself? Not to mention what God thinks of false gospels.

My sect is right and yours is wrong. How is this different than Sunni vs Shiite each claiming they have the “true” interpretation if Islam?

The difference is that one faith is true and one is partly true. But that's a judgement that you will have to come to on your own.

>>YOU are claiming authority<<

Nope, I gave the authority of scripture to which you still have not responded. Show where the apostles taught the assumption of Mary or the requirement to believe it.

Christ spoke in Aramaic, not Greek.

First, you need to prove that claim.

Second, the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the NT to write it in Greek.

The Greek text settles the question of who the rock on which the church is built truly is.

Yes indeed it does.. which is why Mother Teresa never told the dying Hindus of Christ.. she believed it they were good Hindus they was enough

The only ones Rome curses to hell is protestants ..

And you have consistently avoided the fact that Christ spoke in Aramaic and that changes your interpretation of Matthew 16:18.

So did the writers of scripture translate it into Greek on their own or did Jesus instruct them to do it???

And which dialect of Aramaic did Jesus speak??? There were about a thousand of them...

And why didn't the Aramaic to Greek translators write,

Thou are petra and upon this petra I will build my church???

THIS is the Latin that Jerome translated into the Vulgate:

18 et ego dico tibi quia tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam et portae inferi non praevalebunt adversum eam

You might want to notice that Jerome used two differnt words for rock instead of one...Isn't it odd that Jerome didn't bother with the 'original Aramaic'???

I don't believe your argument has an ounce of merit...

In Sacred Scripture, Peter is always given preeminence when reference is made to the trio of Peter, James and John (eg., Mt. 17:1 - "AND after six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart", Mk. 14:33 - "And he taketh Peter and James and John with him; and he began to fear and to be heavy.")

Not according to Scripture. At the Council at Jerusalem, James was the chief spokesman.

And Paul rebuked Peter for his hypocrisy in pulling back from the Gentile believers when the Jews were around.

They just keep trying to dodge around the issue that their chosen religion claims to serve the same god as the Muslims don’t they.
