You called me a Nazi, so like I would do with Liberals. Forget my name. Not going to play that game with you.

So you are blind to the fact that you give detractors ammunition to use against us? Let them find it for themselves.

Have you heard Francis objecting to his status as a global icon? His words and actions continuously reinforce his leftist creds. Good luck circling the wagons. Are you blind to the fact that your defense of his aberrancy tars you and other Catholics with the same brush?

I didn't call you a Nazi. I referred to you as a fascist leader wannabe.

Forget my name.

Gonna be hard if the same spew continues.

"Are you Catholic? I may have asked before, but I don’t remember the reply. I really have to wonder why someone who is so negative about the Catholic Church would stay Catholic. You seem obsessed. Maybe you should try a different church."

As Blathernaut said, the actions and statements of churchmen are not the Deposit of Faith, which is absolutely correct. To blindly equate the two leads only to the most shallow and transient understanding of the Faith (see Proverbs 14:15). When laboring under such a mindset, instead of faith and reason, the pillars one leans are are faith and fashion. It leads to a style of adherence such as one might have to a local sporting club, rather than a cognizant faith in Christ through Catholic doctrine.

You suggested trying a different church; I used to share your apparent style of adherence to Catholicism, and it couldn't support me when, unlike some, I was unable to punch the "I believe" button in the face of the utter contradiction between doctrine, and the words and actions of modernist churchmen. Instead it led me to Protestantism. A deeper understanding of the unbreakable link between faith and reason and the nature of Christ's Church lead me back. To wit, the rambling mumbles and lies of anyone, clerics included, are not part of the Faith. The words are churchmen are only valuable when they are in line with the Depositum Fidei, otherwise they vile poison and it is our duty to defy them (try 1 John and Acts 20).

Lastly -- you are apparently worried about providing ammunition for detractors -- do you realize how much ammunition is provided by Catholics who stubbornly defend indefensible statements and actions by clerics? When Francis says blue is red and the stalwart defenders close ranks and dole out the same tired nonsense about translation errors...Sheer stupidity. Authentic Catholicism does not require such denial of reality (see 1 Timothy 6). For all the saints, break free from the bonds of Neo-catholic fashion and come into the light of true, logical Catholicism. And take another look at Romans 16.

"We may not revise or change doctrine. We cannot improve on what God has done. We are always trying to improve things in the Church. In all kindness, I tell my Anglican friend: "You are always wanting to revise your church". It cannot be too firmly asserted that we cannot update the Church because the Church is truth. Truth is the first primary. The Church is Christ on earth till the end of time. We cannot change truth. The truth is transcendent. It is above and beyond place and time. God is one - the Church is one - it doesn't seek unity. It is unity. " ~ Fr. Placid Croney, O.P.

In summary, Ignatius of Antioch stated, "Wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." Jesus stated in John 14:16 that He Himself is the Truth. Where there is falsehood, including falsehood promulgated by clerics, there Christ does not abide and thus, there Catholicism does not abide.
