Thanks for posting this. I was just over there on you site and saw this. It won’t stop the detractors but then again most of them will argue with Jesus Christ when he returns. Have a great day.

This keeps happening because a narrative was established early on in his pontificate that Francis was some sort of progressive who was finally moving the Church away from being too conservative, and many of his comments and actions have been read through that distorted lens.

In order to believe the above statement, one would have to discount not only Francis' own actions and words but also the actions and words of those partisans of error who comprise his inner circle. It's quite clear at this point that Francis and his modernist clique are conducting a synchronized campaign.

“This keeps happening because a narrative was established early on in his pontificate that Francis was some sort of progressive who was finally moving the Church away from being too conservative, and many of his comments and actions have been read through that distorted lens”.

Sounds like something Francis apoligist George Wiegel would have written.

Are you Catholic? I may have asked before, but I don’t remember the reply. I really have to wonder why someone who is so negative about the Catholic Church would stay Catholic. You seem obsessed. Maybe you should try a different church.

Maybe he likes the one he had.

Does not strike as he does, He strikes me as the type of person who does not get his way, so he makes everyone around him miserable.

BTW, what one would that be? Prior to 1962, 1965? What Church is that? He/She needs to get some help. Is there anyone one on here that does yet know that Blathernaut hates Francis? ANYONE?

You seem confused. Are you aware that the false opinions of individual churchmen ≠ the teachings of the Catholic Church? When words and actions of churchmen are demonstrably in conflict with the Deposit of Faith, what could be more "negative" than to slavishly defend the corruption? "Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine." Luther taught that "reason is the enemy of faith". It certainly requires a suspension of reason to continue to blindly maintain that the present pope and his appointees are defenders of orthodoxy. Luther would be delighted.

So you are fine with Francis. Other Catholics around here aren't. What makes you correct and them wrong? Where's that Catholic unity this Forum has heard so much about? Francis sure appears to have much in common with other famous Catholics like Pelosi and Biden. Even they get the Eucharist at the Vatican.

There is a place to discuss discord. Blasting the Church on Free Republic day in and day out does not seem the place. There are enough haters out there as it is. But you by all means keep giving them ammunition. Satan is pleased! In the mean time I will continue to pray that Francis sees the errors that many of us perceive.

I pray for Francis, for whatever reason he is in charge, and my pissing and moaning and running the Church down and allowing others to do the same on free republic will not change that. Satan is no doubt pleased with you attitudes.

You really are a piece of work. Name call instead of answering the charge. Why do the work of the detractors, what does that gain? Disunity. If you’re not Catholic what the Hell do you care what the Pope does or doesn’t do? You guys make no logical sense whatsoever. Glad you are not in my family. Gossiping and airing all the families dirty laundry. How admirable!

Because a wildly dysfunctional Pope like Francis brings discredit to religion in general. Allying himself and the Catholic church by extension to idiots like 0bama and other Muslims and with causes like global warming have an effect on everyone.

You really are a piece of work. Name call instead of answering the charge.

I guess I should've checked in with you first and clear my comments to see if they would have 'been allowed'. That's admirable.

Gossiping and airing all the families dirty laundry.

Where have I gossiped? As for airing laundry, Francis does that job himself.

Blasting the Church on Free Republic day in and day out does not seem the place.

Once again, you seem confused. Pointing out the areas of conflict between the Deposit of Faith and the words and actions of the current pope and his various acolytes is not "blasting the Church".

So you are blind to the fact that you give detractors ammunition to use against us? Let them find it for themselves.
