The secular media is pushing its pet causes hard since it senses a window of opportunity with +Francis.

As a conservative Catholic, I have no problem with the idea of woman priests. They might restore the faith in the clergy because, let’s face the fact, there just aren’t enough good men in the West willing to do the job and there are just too many perverts that get into it so they can hide their sicknesses behind the cloth.

The Catholic “priesthood” is an abomination. We don’t need some pseudo-levitical priesthood. We are a priesthood of believers.

And there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5)

Has this priest read what SAINT Pope John Paul has said on the matter?

in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Luke 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful" (OrdinatioSacerdotalis 4).

Please respect my Catholic Faith. In these dark times, we need to be united by Christ, not waging war with one another. Peace be with you.

How can that be? I thought priests had to be fags?

So they found a “consultant” who thinks there should be women priests.

Do people really fall for this?

For 2000 years the Church only ordained viri = “men”, and insisted the ordination of women was impossible. Not just Catholics, but all the ancient churches—Orthodox, Monophysite, etc.

You ordain women now, you are admitting that the Church was dead wrong for 2000 years.

Now you tell me exactly how you do that without saying the Church wasn’t wrong on any number of other things.

Our diocese just turned down the services of an Indian priest because they have too many priests at this time.

Women would be no better, they are human too. I come from Methodism they have had women ministers for years and in most cases it has been a train wreck.

Walk into a church in my diocese and you are extremely lucky if the priest has a mastery of the English language. It is a major problem. I guess it s better than having a pervert, but we have a large, but rapidly shrinking parish with an old and boring pastor and an old Vietnamese that no one can understand. Overtime people stopped going to mass and the lenten masses that used to last 2 hours due to scores of RCIA are now no longer than a mass in ordinary time.

What’s “conservative” or “Catholic” about that? It’s material heresy, BTW. The impossibility of ordaining women is infallible Catholic teaching.

Partially correct, there is dispute on whether or not it is “infallible”.

http://www.uscatholic.org/blog/2011/05/infallible-teaching-womens-ordination

If a bishop were to ordain a woman right now, he would be in violation.

If Francis were to change the rule, whether or not it is currently fallible, I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed. That is all I am saying. There are major issues with the clergy in the West that need to be addressed and I would prefer women priests to gay priests (which is allowed) or accepting perverts under the promise that they don’t act, which currently has to happen to fill the vacancies.

In principle I have no problem with women priests either.
God made both, male and female in his image. So long as the culture allows either to have their words heard and taken seriously, should not be a problem.

My biggest fear frankly is that in the Protestant churches which allow women clergy, it seems to attract only the most extreme far-left nutcases to take the job.

A little fact correction here, for your future reference: The Catholic priesthood is not a "pseudo-Levitical" priesthood, nor has it ever claimed to be.

"Thou art a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek." Hebrews 7:17

The deviants are attracted to the role; “women priests” would simply be molesting altar girls.

To even discuss this is to question whether or not Jesus made a mistake at the Last Supper; as an omniscient God He knew women would get the right to vote, drive cars, etc. 2,000 years later and He still made His choice.

Jesus didn’t make mistakes...

Does the Bible say God made Eve in His image?

Jesus ordained the first priests (as far as Catholicism is concerned); was He sexist? The advocates for this cause say He was a product of His times, though He was killed because He wasn’t; He turned the old law on its head (and paid for it).

The shortage of American priests should never be used to justify “ordination of women”; when Jesus saw His message rejected, He didn’t change the message. He instructed His followers to spread the Word to Gentiles.

Where did Jesus give the message that priests had to be male?
