The outlier was John Paul II, the 2nd longest reigning pope since St Peter, behind Pope Pius IX. At seven years, Pope Benedict’s reign was actually longer than average. Pope John Paul I lasted 33 days, Pope John XXIII lasted four years. But a few recent popes did have fairly long reigns, like Pope Pius XII (about 20 years), and Pope Paul VI (about 15 years).
Plus seeing how heartbreaking the world has become as of late, I not all that surprised myself about this talk.
Or getting very worried about the Islamic jihadi threat.

That’s an interesting comment, Salvation. Since John Paul survived his assassination attempt, I’ve long wondered if the Fatima vision was about another Pope being attacked and falling as though dead.
