There is more in Revelation and Job and the extra biblical book of Enoch about the rebellion.
“They will end up in hell simply due to bad luck and a bad environment.”
.
Never
However, we are NOT happier, nicer or better people--not ONE iota.
We are STILL Adam and Eve and some of us still INSIST on believing in Lucifer's lies. There are even Satanic cults. How EVIL and useless is that?!
1. True.
2. True.
3. True.
I ALWAYS appreciate any additions (or subtractions) to mine humble word-smithing. :o)
When limited to a very narrow relevant range of time, that might be true. But this is a relative characterization.
Throughout history, life-spans have fluctuated, depending on the level and refinement of civilization. In the Dark ages, 35 was considered old, but in the antedeluvian, and even into the post-diluvian period, people live for hundreds of years.
Similarly, levels of education have fluctuated drastically through the eons.
But you are right. Morally, we are exactly the same the first two beings.
Actually, this is one I’m a bit undecided on. Both this entire passage from Isaiah and the passage from Ezekiel 28:11-19. Certainly both could apply to Satan but both come within a prophetic oracle aimed at Babylon and Tyre respectively and may be referring to nothing more than these antagonists. These prophetic oracles against Israel’s enemies are a very common feature in almost all the books of the prophets and are generally highly symbolic but never wander off into angelic, heavenly narrative. I want to land in the “referring to Satan” camp but I have reservations. In any event I lean that way but cautiously.
You might want to complement it with these verses from Revelation 12:3-4. They describe the heavenly war.
And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.
Let God deal with ourselves before we ever deal with anybody else, that's a message of God Don't come pointing a way, let em follow you in "the way" is the message that's here.
You know the Message of Pentecost I told ya, "Is God the Father, through God the Holy Ghost, revealing God the Son, through a human vessel called The Church".
Now that should govern everything that we say, every message that we preach, everything that we do, all of God's purpose is summed up in that one line.
We have seen how, in "the fall", man's spirit was so violated, that he sank down, in subjection to his soul, and man became an altogether different creature than God had made him. He is spirit died toward God so he no longer has the capability to communicate with God, he'd become an altogether different man.
Adam didn't just need forgiveness, that nature could never come back to God. So God drove him from that garden, which was symbolic of His presence, set a Cherubim and a sword at the gate, that said "your kind can never come back in here.
Now through the life, death, and resurrection of The Lord Jesus Christ, God has secured a new race. Jesus being first born of that race. Now through His death, a "new and living way" was opened up to God, Man can be "born again"
He who knew no sin, became sin, that you and I might actually become the Righteousness of God. Now this "transformation" is accomplished by replacing one life with another life. Only this way, when a man is "born again", there's a new creation, but there's still that "old" to be dealt with. It is "this body", in "this body" there's two people, "the old" and "the new", and that's what brings on the "warfare" that you read about in Romans 7.
When that, there was no problem in Abrahams tent until Isaac was born. Ismael was 13 years old when the "spiritual man" Isaac was born, no need dividing the tent folks, one of em has to get out of here.
There's never going to be any peace until one way or another, that we settle this "warfare". Paul says the flesh lusts against The Spirit, and The Spirit against the flesh, so that you and I as men of God and women of God, cannot do what we would. That's as plain as it comes. Not the devil, but that flesh, that's the body of the devil.
Just like the spiritual "born again" new creature is the Body of Christ, that "old nature" is the body of Satan.
No doubt there is a Heavenly purge of the dragon (who I would contend is Satan) but is that related to the Isaiah and Ezekiel verses? I think it definitely could be but I don't know that I could base doctrine on it, which happens a lot in the prophetic books.
