Sorry to hear you are in the ranks of “former” Catholics. That is a large number. I have had my struggles myself but have remained true to the Church. It is a fight that I intend to see through. I pray you return to the faith. Many Bishops are on the fringes of the church. My priest never mentioned reform in any way shape or form. It is not coming from on high everywhere. Remember the bishop is human and subject to error. Our sermon was Christ stressing the hard road involved in following him. The Church as well as the laity have crosses to bear.

Dear Salvation,

Your posts on this matter are insulting and are a calumny against my ancestors.

My grandparents and great-grandperents came to the United States LEGALLY. They passed through Ellis Island, and received official approval of the federal government to come to live and work (and become citizens) in the United States. They were subject to being sent back if not accepted by the government for any reason or impediment. They did NOT sneak in, they did NOT violate American laws, they did NOT steal from native-born Americans or LEGAL immigrants by taking that to which they were not entitled.

When you compare the millions of ILLEGAL immigrants to my grandparents, you tell falsehoods about my grandparents. This is objectively grave evil, the matter of mortal sin.

And DON'T call ME an immigrant, again! I am a native-born American! Calling me an immigrant is an insult and a calumny!

As it is, the United States permitted millions upon millions of immigrants to come to this country during the time my grandparents immigrated here. And you know what? We STILL permit roughly a million people PER YEAR to immigrate to the United States LEGALLY. EACH AND EVERY YEAR.

In fact, we permit more legal immigrants into our country each year than all the other countries of the world COMBINED.

We have a RIGHT to control our borders. In light of the fact that we permit more LEGAL immigration than the rest of the world combined, we have EVERY RIGHT to prevent ILLEGALS from coming here and staying here.

Stop insulting real Americans and our LEGAL immigrant ancestors and immorally comparing them to the thieves who steal our birthright by breaking our laws and coming here as ILLEGALS.

We are a land of immigrants.

My ancestors did not immigrate here, they founded the nation.

The British colonists were moving from Britain to Britain, they were immigrating to a foreign country.

Yep, Salvation, find some other way to promote illegal immigration.
