Wow you guys really sparked a nerve...
A whole 9-10 responses in this thread.
I am just wondering how many people he has brought into faith by being ultra accessible and running his church successfully.
While he may not be perfect.. Are YOU?
saved sinners go to heaven.
We'd be wise to listen to our Lord as he replies to those that try to entrap him with divorce ...
Matthew 19:8
King James Version (KJV)
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
Personally, I think Jesus was allowing for a man's law because it was (apparently) lawful after Moses had decreed it ... but Jesus was reminding them ... it's not the way God wants it to be.
Anyone remember Joel Osteen’s father John? He was a preacher who believed and preached the Bible! Go to you tube and listen to his sermons. He sure is NOT like his son!!
Imply. And "indirectly" is assumed in either "imply" or "infer."
That said, Romans 6:1-2 is quite instructive in dealing with those who have come to faith without proper instruction on the value and importance of repentance.
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" - Romans 6:1-2
So, let's go back to the question at hand:
"When asked directly if people whom are openly practicing homosexuals are accepted into the Kingdom, Joel Osteen responded with Absolutely, anybody is.
If that's the kind of faith Joel Osteen is preaching -- supposedly based in the Word and divinity of Christ but not in adherence to His teaching -- it's the wrong faith. Is that the kind of success God wants for Osteen's ministry?
I'm far from perfect. I'd fry in Hell without God's grace, but I am very glad I have it. But you need to make the effort to distance yourself from sin, and the question Osteen was asked seems to have dealt with those who do not make the attempt.
There are no crosses in his church. I bet there isn’t many KJV’s either.

Joel Osteen Hoax: Man Allegedly Behind Ploy To Discredit Leader Wants Televangelist To Change His Message (VIDEO)
Famed televangelist Joel Osteen may not be losing his religion, but he is the target of an elaborate hoax attempting to discredit the powerful megachurch leader and “motivate him to talk about more serious subjects.”
I’m not even a Christian, and this guy sounds pretty lame.
Someone sent me a link to his Easter sermon. Even though my opinion of him has never been high, I was shocked to listen to his “sermon” and realize that it wasn’t about Jesus and death, burial, and resurrection from the dead at all. Jesus wasn’t even mentioned, other than a tag at the end of a prayer. The sermon was all about “feeling” good about yourself.
Joey, boy, you need to bone up on the meaning of "apostle". In terms of standing, credibility and authority, you aren't fit to lick the bottom of their sandals. You know, Jesus reserved his harshest criticism of those religious leaders who departed from scripture to administer a theology that happened to give them wealth and power. My prayer is that God's perfect justice be done for him.
No surprise. Joel has always seemed a little “light in the loafers.”
Hmmmm. Let me see....
Osteen or Peter, Paul, and John???
What a no brainer........
Well Joel....hope you don’t mind if we stick with those original author’s teachings, in preference to your convenient world view?
The False Promise of the Prosperity Gospel: Why I Called Out Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer

The John Piper video in that article is worthwhile. As Piper says, Osteen and Meyer preach another gospel.
The lesbo billionaire gave him a big fat check for embracing evil.

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
James 3:1
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
2 Timothy 2:16
But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,
Galatians 1:6-10
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
