Why can't 'The Bible' TV series get the Bible right?

The problem isn't that they didn't depict it realistic enough. The problem is that there was no mention of it at all as if it didn't happen that way.

But they did show it though. I think it's right before the angels arrive there is a party of sorts in a darkened room. That's just it the scenes were in the movie just not blatant. The persons appear quite drunk. There is also some man in that scene embracing a sheep. I mean in his arms sheep on it's back he's dancing with the thing. Lot could barely get through a passageway with his wife and family without one man after his family.

Uh, besides with the name Sodom the name explains itself. From the name comes sodomy.

There is something else important as well many are missing here. Yes homosexuality was a major issue in Sodom and Gomorrah but it was a wide variety of other evil as well. Homosexuality and sexual perversions was likely the last straw. Lot was taken captive before in Sodom and for some reason after Abraham rescued him Lot returned to the city before the angels visited.

If homosexuality was the sole sin and evilness of these two cities would not nature itself resolve the issue in one generation?

How graphic did viewers wish it to be? Rape {hethrosexual & gay}, sodomy, bestiality perhaps? Remember the guy chasing Lot's family was after his wife and daughters. The men chasing the angels were after the angels.
