My understanding of the term is, of course, what I use.I really meant the other posters who were swarming on you after you said you were agnostic. I assumed that your claim implied a fairly good understanding of the definition.
I just dont know if there is, or is not, a god...or God, if you like. I mean no disrespect.
Disrespect? How could your 'beliefs' cause me any disrespect? I thought 'freedom' meant you could choose to believe what you want, when it comes to the 'super' natural?
Id like to know but I dont. But then, I hold myself to very strict logical standards.
The smartest people I know are the ones who say they don't know.

My faith is based first on the testimony of the Holy Spirit. But...
Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. So he said to them, Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace to you! 27 Then He said to Thomas, Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God! 29 Jesus said to him, Thomas,[d] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
(John 20:24-30)

Ten bucks says you can’t tell me what the subject of this thread (or the title) is, without looking.

The laws of nature, as understood by humans, approach complete understanding the more we learn and apply logic. I continue to search for truth...that’s all I do, really. You are welcome to pity me for my lack of understanding from your perspective.

If they lied as much then as now, then they also told the truth as much then as now.

Do you have an independent test of how smart they are, or is your test for their intelligence simply that they claim to be agnostic? (agnostic—translated as ignoramus in latin)

Don’t introduce unnecessary and irrelevant emotions. They only get in the way of seeing the truth.

Agnostic means you are not sure whether God exists.Technically, the direct Greek translation would be "one who does not know." Your definition is pretty close to that.

Thank you for your ability to understand my position. It is just that, a position. We agnostics don’t mind being wrong but we just want to know why so that we can ammend our positions.

I exist and you, I'm willing to bet, exist. But the fact that either of us exist says nothing about the existence of a creator, unless I am missing something. I am more than willing to be enlightened. Sorry, I'm only responsible for my own beliefs. My beliefs are based on my life, my experiences, my logic, and therefore would be of no help to you.
I cannot 'prove' GOD exists to anyone else, mainly because I find it hard to prove something whose definition varies, person to person.
I just think of the zillions of creatures who have no brain at all, and yet build the most intricate constructs. I see motors designed on the molecular scale, within living cells. I see a planet full of life that 'adapts' to the environment. I see a pile of Eukaryotes form a single collective conscious in a human form, and ask "Why do I exist?".
The answer is always the same.

Apparently you assume that I don’t have a brain due to my beliefs...why waste time responding to such a brainless one as myself? Oh, you thought you might be able to save me...thanks for your compassion.

Please dont overlook the good hereI'm not.
that the Resurrection is very good news if true.
Of course.
My point was that you seemed to be trying to 'tie' GORUSH down with the resurrection event.
So, if he accepts it, and says that is proof, does that mean if it didn't happen, that you would not believe in your religion anymore ?
