From the article:
"The Mormons will come as saviors of the constitution, firm-willed virtuous patriots full of love for God and country. Their ecclesiastical autocracy will come wrapped in the evocative symbolism of constitutional purification."For those who have neighbors, friends, family or acquaintances whose mormonism they defend on FR, some thought should be given to the above noted words of mormon leaders through the past 180 years.

Mormons were the main financial supporters of California’s Prop. 8, defining marriage as between one man and one woman.

I know leftist pastors from mainline Christian churches who say the same thing. They believe that the Kingdom of God is fulfilled when the governments redistribute all the world’s wealth “fairly”.

lds don’t have “clergy”, they have unpaid untrained leaders. SLC publicly supported the defeat of Prop 8 in Califonrnia, their pro-homosexual measures in Utah leads one to think they have conflicting views on the subject.
I have two homosexual lds cousins who have long term partners. One was asked to change or leave, the other has not been told to leave even though he is “out” big time.

Mormons oppose gay marriage and have no professional clergy other than a few full timers who are at the very top of the leadership ladder. Other than that it’s a lay clergy.

(I dissagree with starting this up again. Its so 2009.)Well, hang on to your dissatisfaction...from now until November the Obama campaign will fill the MSM with articles just like this.
All the ABO voters on FR won't be enough to stem the tide. The epitome of stupidity...pushing a member of a proven racist sect into the nomination to run against a black man.

I did. I’m not defending mormonism. I’m defending Mormons because they are doing something positive and not just sitting in their churches wondering why attendance is declining. My own denomination is in General Conference right now, debating the gay marriage and gay clergy issue for the 10th time in 40 years!
It gets voted down every 4 years, and the gays go crazy and the leadership wimps out and decide to “study” it and look at it again in 4 years. When the gay lobby finally wins, the issue will be closed forever and another great Christian denomination will be apostate.
I’m not a Mormon, but I am happy to see someone stand for something. I’d rather live in a Mormon theocracy than a Muslim theocracy or atheist anti-theocracy.

Id rather live in a Mormon theocracy than a Muslim theocracy or atheist anti-theocracy.Hmmm...I'd rather live in a Constitutional Republic that isn't highjacked by any anti-Christian cult, and this nomination has been highjacked by Romney and his RINO buddies.

As a group yes they were, They were the biggest financial drivers fighting against prop 8 and the liberals were trying very hard to eviscerate them after wards to no avail. Yes they were the only one with visible gonads. The reaction afterward from the left tells anyone what they need to know about the effectiveness of Mormons commitment. They went after the Mormons as a group. Period. The only other thing they did was publish small contributors names with home addresses on the web.
