A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
The vast majority of what is posted around here by anti-Catholics doesn't even make it all the way back to Luther or Wycliffe, just to America in the early part of the nineteenth century. Of course, everything over twenty minutes old is tradition and so the infallible are free to ignore it anyway. The mention of anything say, thirty minutes old, is just a ploy to make it look like there's something more substantial than their own reflection in the mirror to the personal religion of Self each of the infallible practices.
There is a certain lack of substance in their theology - that is well demonstrated.
Arguably speaking, maybe he does. It seems to validate the persona that he has created here, in that he is on the delivery end of the couch versus the business end.
OF COURSE!
Sadly, in a way, that has little to do with the RCC.
Thankfully, it has everything to do with the Church Universal--the Body of Christ eventually made up of every kindred and tongue . . . of folks who've received, accepted, apprehended, the Precious Blood of Jesus as covering for their sins--as their ETERNAL SALVATION through Faith in Christ's Blood, Death and Resurrection as their Redemptive Sacrificial Lamb.
Given Christ's hostility to hierarchical INSTITUTIONALIZED RELIGION I suspect virtually all if not all man structured "Christian" groups will NOT find ANY Heavenly departments, offices of THEIR structures or organizations--whatsoever--REGARDLESS of what sides of what lines they construed themselves on.
Otherwise, the focus would NOT be on Christ and His Blood.
Scripture makes clear from Genesis to Revelation--CHRIST'S BLOOD IS THE KEY.
The Father, nor Christ, nor Holy Spirit are about to give glory our-ranking THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS
to
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Christ's Word,
Christ's Blood,
Christ's Spirit,
will reign Supreme!
Nothing else will be close. Even the good things.
Farcical, ARROGANT, hypocritical, evil saturated human organizations won't even be in the same multiverse.
That's true of Proddy orgs as well as every component of the vast multiplicity of RCC orgs.

Once again we see the attempt to apply the letter of the law while missing the spirit.
They don’t apply the prohibition: “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness ” but do apply “Thou shalt not bow down ”
When you are your own interpreter and interpretation-checker, self-contained internet theologian, you can get away with these obvious contradiction and errors.
Do you not really get it? It is not the Roman Church (which leads me further in speculation that you were never Catholic at all), but it was the Church of the Apostles, using the Septuagint, that determined the canon of the OT. Jews don't get to add or delete from Christianity.
I view this as simply more antiCatholicism.

Is he going to tell us what version of scripture he got that from? Is it totally different than what all other versions are? That whole excommunication thing in there was weird. It would fit the RCC meme however.
Your posts indicate the common attitude of the Reformation that all you have to obey is the god in the mirror.
God straightened out their theology AFTER they were saved and given the Holy Spirit. Matter of fact, the only way to have correct theology is through the enlightening of the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. Yes, correcting my theology is God's department.
In other words, you are confirming my position that Protestants disavow any responsibility for their beliefs. The limousine beckons...
This child of God is my friend's son and he was abroad for Campus Crusade for Christ spreading the Gospel. I found out at church this morning and my heart has been breaking all day. I can't say too much right now because his body has not been released from the country yet but his mom's quote to me at church this am was that he was "murdered in muslim fashion". I would ask that you all might reflect on the words you've used on this thread (me too) and ask yourselves if this is what Jesus would want from us.
****RCC is not His church.****
Truly this is nothing more than the opinion of an admittedly fallible person who cannot show where the Catholic Church is disconnected from the one which came out of the catacombs.
There is no time at which one can point and say, this is where the NT church ended and the (Roman)Catholic Church began unless one completely ignores history and the witness of the first few generations of Christians following the Apostles.
There seems to be two camps of protestantism, the first, who adhere to the pretense that Constantine created the Catholic Church and the second, who adhere to the pretense that Christ established no visible church with an organizational hierarchy and unified doctrine of beliefs and practices.
Both are equally wrong and have been injurious to the true body of Christ.
There is clear organization in the NT, clear adherence to a unified doctrine as proclaimed and preached by the Apostles and leaders of the Church, and clear community worship and breaking of the Bread.
And no where in the first two or three or four or five centuries all the way to the present is there an end of that organization, that doctrine or that community worship.
One Bread, One Body, One Faith, One Lord of all. One Church.
It’s a quote from St. Ambrose of Milan’s exegesis on the passage of scripture from the 4th century.
For the first several centuries the only other groups of “Christians” that were outside the Catholic Church were the Gnostics who believed in a completely different set of scriptures.
Ones even the Evangelicals would have a hard time accepting unless they are of the Dan Brown variety.
