I don’t have experience with the Southern Baptists, but the understanding was is that even if the marriage failed for reasons that had nothing to do with the spouse, (ie, abandoment, infidelty), that the proper response was to live apart from your spouse and not to take on another.
I used to stay with a very good woman who’s husband had walked out on her and her son. I used to help her son out (I was close to her son’s age), when we attended the same church. She was hurt when I left that Church to become a Catholic, she took it as a personal rejection of her. I am very thankful for her kindness but it has been a very long time since I last saw her.
One common trait among all liberal “Christians” is the desire to conform the Church to the world. Jude nailed it in his epistle and things have not changed at all since then. The same evil forces are using the same methods to try and destroy the bride of Christ.
BenKenobi, it is almost libel to list Episcopalian positions and allege they are also true of Anglicans. Please stop. Orthodox Anglicans, APCK, ACC, ACA, et al all denounce each and every one of the items you list. If you don’t know what you’re typing about you really should either learn or find a different subject, ok?

I was an Anglican for a great many years. I know exactly what I am talking about. Yes, there are some who obey Christ, but the way the Anglican church works is that the Queen is the head of the church, and it is ran through Canterbury. Thus, whatever Canterbury believes stands for what the entire Anglican church believes.
This is why they are splitting apart.
I see your problem: you can’t tell an American from a Briton. That’s a real problem. I know what the Church of Englcand proposes. It is entirely in concert with the Episcopal Church in the US. That would be why all of the continuing churches stemming from the Anglican tradition have gone right the other way. They all dropped their communion with Canterbury precisely BECAUSE the CoE can’t maintain orthodoxy (or any reasonable facsimile thereof). You could look it up.
It is also not at all what I was writing about, as you may as well admit.
So, stop confusing England with the US and start helping faithful Anglicans in the US build parishes. It is really no help when someone so dramatically misstates our position in a forum where many people are reading and may not know.

Then they are not Anglican. I’m sorry. If they aren’t in communion with Canterbury, then they are something else entirely.

Why is that my job. Have I misrepresented what Canterbury teaches? No.
You are arguing that not everyone who calls themselves ‘Anglican’ are affiliated with Canterbury. That’s not exactly a controversial statement. I would argue everyone who is a faithful Anglican is affiliated with Canturbury and with ECUSA, which is the official body in America.
I don’t have time to qualify my statement to take into account what all the other groups may or may not believe. That’s your job to point out that those groups that are not affiliated with Canturbury adhere to these teachings.
More along the point, what does your churches teach about contraception?
