Seems that earthly shepherds globally recognized as witnesses for Christ baffle those who don’t have them.
Your post is absolutely irrelevant. Clearly, you have nothing intellectual to offer to this discussion.
Men may worship whatever god they choose..what ever blood they choose.. free country
It must be difficult and baffling to see that the entire world attended Pope John Paul II’s funeral and marked his passing - the man who leads the Church that you reject.
It must be comforting to get in a few digs at him now. Sort makes up for the bewilderment and confusion you felt at the time he died and the world mourned the loss of his witness to Christ’s love and mercy.
No icons, no statues, no relics, no sacraments, no reverencing of Christ's own mother.............God's gonna be mad, mad, mad......!!
A sad, almost Islamic approach to God's church and his holy ones.
“Seems that earthly shepherds globally recognized as witnesses for Christ baffle those who dont have them.”
I constantly marvel at these people. Their level of understanding is so superficial, so cut-and-paste to make it fit their interpretation or opinion, yet they say Catholics are the lost ones? Ha! Example is the post above that implied I’m not even a Christian.
If only these people would open their eyes. oh my.....prayers for them
Some things never change?
I would think you are actually trying to be unChristian, but I am inclined to give you a free pass if you will acknowledge that the church outlawed the any selling of relics centuries ago. It was an abuse that was dealt with appropriately.
You are not the kind of woman who drags out wrongs long past every time you have a disagreement with your husband, are you?
The truth (see below) is sort of spoils your fun:
Vatican offers free relics of Pope John Paul II over the internet ...Sep 25, 2007 ... The reports forced church officials to remind the faithful that it is sacrilegious to buy or sell religious relics. ...
Relic sales? Merchandising?
These outlandish accusations have zero basis. Zero. Not very Christian-like to be spreading slanderous lies, now is it?
This will also spoil your fun:
“The mission of SaintRelics.org is foremost to promote reverance and appreciation for the lives and relics of the saints.
Secondly, we aim to educate the faithful on the sin of simony, the buying and selling of relics for profit.
Thirdly, we aim to teach others how to properly identify an authentic relic and appreciate its cultural and historical context.
Lastly, we attempt to help “unwanted” relics find their way from estate sales and antique shops to a places of devotion.
We believe that relics are not to be owned or treated as a personal possession. Instead, we believe that the faithful are charged to be protective guardians of these tangibles so that they can be passed on from generation to generation, keeping the memories of the saints alive in our hearts.
We take as our patroness St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower who has taught us that even the tinest of souls can be pleasing to God, for we are all invited to be a flower in His garden!”
O.....
M....
G....
And I don't say that lightly.
How can any sane, rational, mature human being take stuff like this seriously???
Nice try. Papa John is not the same as Christ. It is idolatry. Period.
One would think the hundreds of gallons of his blood would be enough.
Nice try. The Islamic approach is to punish themselves. The true followers of Christ only will wait for God to do the punishing.
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
That nor in there has to be troublesome for most RCC members. Not only arent we supposed to make images of things in heaven but then we arent supposed to serve them either.
What about it is inaccurate or not true?
Since you are implying that that's the case, could you offer more than that to show us where it's wrong?
Do they install them in alters in their homes?
Come on. That analogy falls so flat.
It is quite clear that all the purported “former” Catholics know nothing whatsoever about relics, at all.
If there were no other proof, this thread would be it.
“He is of the opinion that this is the most precious relic of John Paul II and should be the focal point of the church.” .........
The focal point of any church should be our Salvation found in the precious blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This is simply a form of idol worship, and RC’s wonder why we Protestants question the core tenets of their faith.
