Once again the calamitous ramifications of dispensationalism become apparent.
No coherent theology, beyond "Israel ain't the Church!".
Looks like this thread has grown about 400 posts since the last time I looked at it. I suppose I can plow through it if I skim the papist/anti-papist stuff and skip over the burblings of certain parties.
You now have stooped to fabricating a story about God's Holy Scripture...You have no credibility...
Even in the Bible Jesus and the Pharisees accused each other of being Satanic.
Your posts, on the other hand, obviously and falsely attributed beliefs to metmom's group, e.g. Kolob which is associated with Mormonism. That would be comparable to someone accusing your group of believing in Xenu which is associated with Scientology.
If that finessing of the Religion Forum guidelines were permitted then we'd have chaos and never-ending flame wars with posters making obviously false, inflammatory claims.
There are plenty of Proddy congregations with folks more or less overtly conscioiusly or unconsciously serving satan, too. Some of us have noted this repeatedly.
And, there are RC's who feel that more or less all Proddys serve satan automatically . . . and they've said so on FR repeatedly.
Some RC's appear to be mean-spirited, harshly personal, vindictive, blood-thirsty in their tones and posting styles as indicated by their word choices, etc.
RELIGION is a fiercely held and contested playing field.
That's not new.
Personally, I believe the fierce iron sharpening iron aspect of FR is a blessing.
The challenges to our faith are going to become more and more intense.
Eventually, authentic Christians of every stripe will lay aside the petty distinctives--even those they THOUGHT were crucial and believe and act as blood brothers IN CHRIST'S BLOOD AND SPIRIT . . . MORE OR LESS REGARDLESS.
Some of us do in some contexts already.
It is not a horrible thing for fierce exchanges to surface internal crud that needs taken to The Cross, crucified and left their--even if daily. That is a gift. That is a Grace. That is a blessing. That is an OPPORTUNITY to BECOME MORE LIKE CHRIST. Praise God for the RC or Proddy who surfaced the crud in us or whomever.
That's much better than not having it surfaced and having it keep us out of heaven or cause us to lose a great blessing etc.
Some of us are able to engage in such exchanges with some amount of humor. That's a good sign. That which can't handle well or survive fierce satirical humor is likely too wimpy, TOO PRISSY, too self-righteous, too-idolized, too brittle, too unChrist-like . . . to begin with.
Judging even sinners out of a bad-faith, personal pique, human critical judgment sort of place is extremely hazardous.
Calling brothers on their crud is part of our Christian duty.
There is a difference. They may APPEAR and SOUND the same. The heart difference is crucial.
FR is NOT Rome's coloseum with lions and bears. FR is NOT the Spanish Inquisition.
It is little pixels and symbols on a screen.
If folks' experience of and handling of their RELIGION--certainly of their 'faith,' cannot well handle growthfully and redemptively little pixels on a screen, then they probably need to start over in a new venue with a new FAITH and trash their RELIGION altogether--regardless of who's side they are on.
RC's often cite rather wrongfully, imho, that the gates of hell will not prevail against the RC INSTITUTION.
Yet, they run around chronically wailing and whining that Proddys are prevailing toooooo successfully against their petty distinctives and they simply MUST have authoritarian redress from the AUTHORITIES on FR.
Gimme a break. Grow up.
For one, GATES are DEFENSIVE. Christians are to assault satan's kingdom and prevail.
Two, if Proddys are scoring too many points for comfort against RC hogwash--
B) Ignore the Proddy assertions or
C) Adjust the particulars more toward authentic Biblical Christianity or
D) avoid the Religion Forum or the contentious threads.
.
Otherwise, consider the source and whistle on down the road. It's "only" Proddys, after all.
Or sharpen your communication skills and use the Proddys' and their assaults as an OPPORTUNITY to grow up.
Or continue wailing, whining, throwing dust in the air, appealing to a rubberized history that never was; a rubberized 'Bible' that God had nothing to do with and a magicsterical bureaucracy that is an insult to God and man.
Just avoid being surprised, thin-skinned, wailingly pathetic and otherwise tastelessly disgraceful when Proddys have something to say about such things.
Why didn’t you let me know that you were talking about me?
I didn’t see my name in the courtesy ping but did in the post.
I’m convinced MetMom’s group is Christian because she is clearly Christian.
Good enough for me.

Flame bait someone else.
I’m not playing.
Everyone is wise to it.
No. I meant 450 feet because that’s what John Moore said.
I did NOT MEAN
AT
CORNWALL ENGLAND.
Between the average mean sea level AT Cornwall England
and highest mean averages at other points—such as various points in the bulge at the equator—THAT
DIFFERENCE can be as much as 450 FEET.
according to some.
This is typical of credobaptists, both regular and the Anabaptist variety. I cannot say what non-Christian groups observe this extra-biblical practice.
New tactic, but the results are the same. Bottom line here is that there is no reference to modern secular Israel in the Abrahamic blessing or in any other blessing literally speaking. Its obvious that dispensationalists are stretching the text to fit their theology. They need to find a rationale for this Israel obsession.
Judges 13 1And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, so the LORD gave them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years. 2There was a certain man of Zorah, of the tribe of the Danites, whose name was Manoah. And his wife was barren and had no children. 3 And the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, "Behold, you are barren and have not borne children, but you shall conceive and bear a son. 4Therefore be careful and drink no wine or strong drink, and eat nothing unclean, 5for behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. No razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb, and he shall begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines." 6Then the woman came and told her husband, "A man of God came to me, and his appearance was like the appearance of the angel of God, very awesome. I did not ask him where he was from, and he did not tell me his name, 7but he said to me, 'Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. So then drink no wine or strong drink, and eat nothing unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.'"
Legend has it that Mary was dedicated to God by her parents.
You'll have to try again to demonstrate that it's an extra-Biblical practice.
Standing ovation! Thank you for voicing the feelings the Catholics on these threads feel daily. We who have sons, brothers, cousins, uncles, and dear friends who are priests who have sacrificed the richness and rewards of family for the loneliness of service know that the accusations about the "priest craft" are nothing but vacuous lies by petty and empty persons, but we still feel the pain.
certain man of Zorah
You'll have to try again to demonstrate that it's an extra-Biblical practice.
All you have managed to do is point out a couple one-time events. There is no general mandate or command anywhere in the Bible for believing parents (Jewish or Christian) to observe these unique practices. Did you sacrifice a bull? Do you plan to leave your child at the temple and return home? Did you have a visitation from an angel regarding your barrenness? Obviously not, so your dedication is merely a human invention, fashioned after an out-of-context application of Scripture.
In that sense the practice is quite extra-biblical and follows no divine mandate. It is a tradition of men.
That's ridiculous...Salvation is not from the Jews...Salvation is from God and God is not a Jew...
The KJV has the right translation...
Joh 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
Salvation is OF the Jews...This goes right alone with the verse that tells us:
Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
AND,
Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Mat 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
But then your religion distorts the doctrine by changing the scripture, again, and claiming salvation is FROM the Jews...
Don't hold your breath. Catholics and Catholicism are held to a different standard. It is impossible to believe or expect that any moderator can completely insulate their subjective decision responsibilities from their own prejudices.
God answered your question long ago...His answer was, no...
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Also, God has never removed believers from the consequences fo sin.
All Christians are saved from the consequences of sin...
Not in water baptism, you don't...
Your error is in misrepresenting the opinions of individual Catholics, some out of the context of their centuries, as representing the teachings of the Church and the vast majority of all Catholics living and dead.
Those bubbles are from the Protestant truth pump cavitating.
