My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden,
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm:
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy;
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to His posterity forever.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen

Magníficat ánima mea Dóminum,
et exsultávit spíritus meus
in Deo salvatóre meo,
quia respéxit humilitátem
ancíllæ suæ.

Ecce enim ex hoc beátam
me dicent omnes generatiónes,
quia fecit mihi magna,
qui potens est,
et sanctum nomen eius,
et misericórdia eius in progénies
et progénies timéntibus eum.
Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo,
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui;
depósuit poténtes de sede
et exaltávit húmiles.
Esuriéntes implévit bonis
et dívites dimísit inánes.
Suscépit Ísrael púerum suum,
recordátus misericórdiæ,
sicut locútus est ad patres nostros,
Ábraham et sémini eius in sæcula.

Glória Patri et Fílio
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio,
et nunc et semper,
et in sæcula sæculórum.

Amen.

They don't want IT, that is evident. Possibly for others to know HIS Word. It doesn't take one long to see the stark difference between His Church based on God's Word alone and The RCC with it's man made teachings with these posts.

Yes, I found that too.. but still gave the benefit of the doubt for along time. I think maybe I didn't want to feel the pain of knowing their rejection of the truth...that somehow they might be persuaded to the Lords way of seeing things.

The up side is it does drives us into His word...(to pick up our sword) and get into the battle. I have found many discussions take place off line, in the real world, and for these exchanges made here, and a part of, I've been armed much better by understanding HOW they do fight the battle...and clearly uses the tactics of the enemy to do so.....

...It's one thing to read about his tactics..quite another to see them in action.... So these threads have helped position me well in the outside world when these issues are presented. So it's been very helpful in understanding the warfare and how it's played.

Hi Iscool,

Yes I have noted that the Popes really are the leaders who dictate these behaviors to their memberships. Bishops as well for I understand they are the deciding factor in how each parish etc. is operated. Some really go out there far into left field too! So in doing so this leaves most catholics in the position that pretty much anything goes as they always have some Pope in History they can refer to and justify their behavior and or beliefs. That’s why we see so many references that are not scripture...much of their faith seems to rest on writings and works “permitted” by Rome...and published by them.

For me Gods word will always be the standard all is measured by. And that not with out bringing the issues before Him as I do so.

Nothing sensible.
Nothing rational.
Nothing Biblical.
Nothing Biblically respectful of the genuine Mary.
Nothing Biblically respectful of the place God gave Biblically gave the genuine Mary.

Even their pope prays to and worships Mary...

Did you see this?

A more recent Pope, John Paul, was also known for his heavy emphasia on Mary with his motto, "Mary, I am totally yours".

http://www.ewtn.com/entrustment/index.htm

When elected Pope in 1978, Karol Wojtyla of Poland dedicated his papacy to Mary, taking as his episcopal motto the Latin words “Totus Tuus,” meaning “Totally Yours” (“John Paul II’s Devotion to Mary,” Inside the Vatican, special insert, May 1996).

He had these words of devotion to Mary embroidered on his papal robes.

John Paul II even used the term “worship” to describe devotion to Mary. In his general audience of May 7, 1997, the Pope said that “MARIAN WORSHIP in the ecclesial community ... is based on the will of Christ” and “MARY IS THE PATH THAT LEADS TO CHRIST...” (Vatican Information Service, May 7, 1997). He concluded by urging all Christians to acknowledge Mary’s “providential role in the path of salvation.”

Engraved in his wooden coffin, viewed at what has been called “the world’s largest funeral,” was a large letter M for Mary (The Evening Standard, London, Apr. 8, 2005).

The Bible does not teach Mary is our mother, Paul writes in Gal. 4:24-27 “for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children— but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren, You who do not bear! Break forth and shout, You who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children Than she who has a husband.”

III. Mary is our Mother and Queen of the New Davidic Kingdom

John 19:26 - Jesus makes Mary the Mother of us all as He dies on the Cross by saying “behold your mother.” Jesus did not say “John, behold your mother” because he gave Mary to all of us, his beloved disciples. All the words that Jesus spoke on Cross had a divine purpose. Jesus was not just telling John to take care of his mother.

Rev. 12:17 - this verse proves the meaning of John 19:26. The “woman’s” (Mary’s) offspring are those who follow Jesus. She is our Mother and we are her offspring in Jesus Christ. The master plan of God’s covenant love for us is family. But we cannot be a complete family with the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Christ without the Motherhood of Mary.

John 2:3 - this is a very signifcant verse in Scripture. As our mother, Mary tells all of us to do whatever Jesus tells us. Further, Mary’s intercession at the marriage feast in Cana triggers Jesus’ ministry and a foreshadowing of the Eucharistic celebration of the Lamb. This celebration unites all believers into one famiy through the marriage of divinity and humanity.

John 2:7 - Jesus allows His mother to intercede for the people on His behalf, and responds to His mother’s request by ordering the servants to fill the jars with water.

Psalm 45:9 - the psalmist teaches that the Queen stands at the right hand of God. The role of the Queen is important in God’s kingdom. Mary the Queen of heaven is at the right hand of the Son of God.

1 Kings 2:17, 20 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom, the King does not refuse his mother. Jesus is the new Davidic King, and He does not refuse the requests of his mother Mary, the Queen.

1 Kings 2:18 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom, the Queen intercedes on behalf of the King’s followers. She is the Queen Mother (or “Gebirah”). Mary is our eternal Gebirah.

1 Kings 2:19 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom the King bows down to his mother and she sits at his right hand. We, as children of the New Covenant, should imitate our King and pay the same homage to Mary our Mother. By honoring Mary, we honor our King, Jesus Christ.

1 Kings 15:13 - the Queen Mother is a powerful position in Israel’s royal monarchy. Here the Queen is removed from office. But now, the Davidic kingdom is perfected by Jesus, and our Mother Mary is forever at His right hand.

2 Chron. 22:10 - here Queen Mother Athalia destroys the royal family of Judah after she sees her son, King Ahaziah, dead. The Queen mother plays a significant role in the kingdom.

Neh. 2:6 - the Queen Mother sits beside the King. She is the primary intercessor before the King.

Wow! and stunning...well if they made it to heaven they are surely facing the truth head on with the Christ! And if they didn't...well...that's another story altogether..lets just say they are in deep trouble.

I still say this infatuation for some of the “men”..Popes and Bishops alike....who many are celibate...use Mary as an alternative to the lack of not having a woman in their life 'affectionately' theirs. She's the surrogate and why some of their writings are so mushy and sicky sweet. They are more like a man oozing over the woman he loves than that of worshiping for ones greatness....just too romantically stated.

Your post is very similar to my thoughts after reading these threads for awhile.

The up side is it does drives us into His word..

EXACTLY! And reading these threads, it leads me to PRAISE HIM and thanked HIM for HIS Word and leading me out of that cesspool of deception.

..It's one thing to read about his tactics..quite another to see them in action..

YES! We are witnessing the demonic being played out, IMO. It's ugly!

Wrong.........Queen of Heaven is pagan thinking ...

The Catholic Church has made Mary the “Queen of Heaven”. The mention of the “queen of heaven” in the Bible makes God angry, it is not a good thing for the simple reason there is no biblical queen..... Check out the similarities of these people to the catholics today...interesting.

Jeremiah 7:18,........ “The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes (wafers?).... to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN,.... and to pour out drink offerings (wine) unto other gods, that they may ....provoke me to anger..... Why would God be angry?..... Because He is a jealous God, and does not want any false replacements.

Jeremiah 44:15-25,...... “Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,......

” As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not harken unto thee. But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense (candles, worship?)... unto the QUEEN OF HEAVEN,.... and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.....

But since we left off to burn incense... to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN,.... and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. And when we burned incense.... to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN,.... and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes (wafers) ....to WORSHIP HER,.... and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying;......... “ Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense ..to the QUEEN OF HEAVEN,... and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.”

The word to make cakes in Hebrew ‘atsab’..carving in wood this was done by the women..... They were in rebellion to God, notice they say:

...”for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, WE WILL NOT HARKEN UNTO THEE.”.......They didn’t listen,.... without obedience to the word they went into idolatry..... Incense, burnt drink offerings made her cakes and worshiped her.

False worship is practiced today..... As we can see the Queen of heaven is not a good thing but a rebuke.

There is no Queen mentioned in Scripture, but we do have a King.

Mary never had so many problems until the Roman Catholic church gave her the offices and positions... that God did not!

Well, Jesus said to HEAR and OBEY. They deliberately disobeyed. They will meet their Creator but with the ‘Mary, I’m yours’ means he doesn’t belong to Jesus. All those words to Mary, they associated themselves with deception - I hardly call that Hear and Obey. As His Word states, many will enter the wide gate to destruction and only a few find the narrow road to life.

His Word is there for everyone to read/see/hear and obey. When they don’t place God, HIS WORD alone number #1 in their life, how can they follow HIM, have a relationship with HIM? Who will hear, ‘Depart from Me, I never knew you’. They don’t take God’s Word seriously. They have/had a better way - man made heresy teachings.

Actually I remember something like this; but you know, it doesn’t surprise me one bit.

You made a statement that also just made me laugh out loud — not that what you said is funny.. but that it just all points to the falseness of it all: “When elected Pope....”

Elected. Elected by fallible men to the position of infallibility. Riiiiiight.

Good catch.

http://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/mother.htm

Much is made of the title Queen of Heaven by those who attack Catholicism and Marian devotion. The allusion is always to the pagan pantheons and to the mother of the gods, often mother in a very carnal sense of other pagan deities. The Canaanite worship of the “Queen of Heaven” condemned by the prophets is mentioned, as is the worship of Diana of the Ephesians, devotion to whom was exceeding popular before the Gospel arrived among the pagans. It is said that Catholicism at the Council of Ephesus restored this pagan devotion under the cover of devotion to Mary. The history of that Council given above shows the absurdity, and the intellectual dishonesty, of that claim! One might as well claim with respect to Jesus that Christians worship a mere man, since to arrive at this conclusion the Church’s teaching must be ripped from its context and distorted to fit a preconceived judgement.

What then does it mean for Mary to be the Queen of Heaven? In the Old Testament monarchy the Queen of the Davidic Kingdom was the Queen Mother. The Kings, for reasons of state and human weakness, had many wives, none of whom fittingly could be called Queen. That honor was reserved for the mother of the King, whose authority far surpassed the many “queens” married to the king. We see this is the role Bathsheba played with respect to King Solomon and the occasions when the Queen Mother acted as regent on behalf of juvenile successors to the throne.

The role of the Queen Mother, therefore, is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Mary, just as the role of the Davidic King is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Jesus. Jesus inherited the Kingdom promised to David, who was told that one of his descendants would rule forever. The angel Gabriel revealed this fact to Mary at her Annunciation,

Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1:31-33)

Aside from the prophetic types present in the Kingdom of Judah, there is also the text of Psalm 45, which when speaking of the Kingdom of God also speaks of its Queen.

[6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. [7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [8] All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. [9] Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. [10] Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; [11] So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. (Psalm 45:6-11, KJV)

That Kingdom ruled by God is the same as the Kingdom ruled eternally by the Son of David. It is not an earthly kingdom, though it is present on earth in the Church, but a heavenly kingdom, the Kingdom of God. The Queen of that Kingdom is the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Lord God Jesus Christ.

Yes indeed...I loved His words before..but these threads have have brought me great challenge to defend the faith all the more. Metmom, Alamo-Girl and many others as yourself have taught it is not enough to know the truth...but to be able to present it with scripture as reference...where the power comes from to convict or and persuade...but catholics really have no desire to be persuaded, that I can tell from these threads.

Were you once a catholic yourself...or just deceived by other teachings?

I have worked with some caught in cultish religions and have found catholics do follow many of the same defenses.
