I just voted 30 or so minutes ago at my local fire station and was a asked to produce an ID in order to do so. As it should be.

While in WA and OR we’ve moved to vote-by-mail so you can simply sign your ballot and mail it back and everything is right with the world, no ID needed!

In North Carolina, they just ask your name. You confirm your address, sign the form and you can vote. It’s easy! We all had our voter ID cards and driver’s licenses out and they didn’t even ask to see them. Pretty surprising!

Chesterton made a comment once that he was against the secret ballot. If you feel strongly enough to vote, you should be able to admit it to the public.
