You still haven't told us what this book is about. What is Elliott disputing?

Now, if you're telling us Elliot thinks the OPC is standing at a crossroads, I say all churches stand there daily.

If Elliott is cautioning the OPC to remain the ultra-conservative church that it is and not succumb to the liberalism that is rampant in churches today, most especially in the Roman Catholic church whose pope kisses the Koran, then I would agree with Elliott.

The only "liberal" thing I've seen the OPC do is to recently go along with the more modern version of the Westminster Confession of Faith which drops the following line from the 25th chapter of the original WESTMINSTER CONFESSION OF FAITH (1646)...

"Nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense, be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalts himself, in the Church, against Christ and all that is called God."

If this is Elliott's complaint, then I heartily agree with Elliott. Appeasing idolaters for the sake of false ecumenicism is never a good idea.

"All Satan's teachers in all ages have presented their poison, even all their errors and fallacies, in a golden cup." -- John Calvin, Jer.I:85

One poster sees nothing wrong with insulting Quix’s Pentecostal religion yet screams to high heaven over white hankies. these threads are darn entertaining, i dont see what they get so upset about.

ABSOLUTELY INDEED!

BTW, RESIDENT AUGUST EXPERTS ON ALL THINGS QUIX AND FR . . .

I’d ask the annoyingly objective RM but I think that would be unfair to him and put him in more of a bind than he has to live in already.

PLEASE TELL ME . . .

I can’t recall even if, much less the last time ANY Proddy even hinted that a rabidly abusive or harsh or any other kind of RC should be removed from FR.

YET, RC’S HAVE

!!!!!DEMANDED!!!!!

THAT A LIST OF PRODDYS BE REMOVED VIRTUALLY FROM FR’S BEGINNING MONTHS.

WHAT GIVES WITH THAT????

Is that a testimony of
—theologically genetic terminal thin-skins,
—allergic reactions to Proddys,
—terminal duplicity,
—terminal parochialism,
—terminal absence of personal insight
—terminal arrogance and cheekiness about being the fantasized eternal and only IN-GROUP;
—chronic emotional 2 year old-ism;

OR WHAT????

It’s really a serious question this psychologist/sociologist would like to know an answer to.

Amen. Just by reading what Rome says about Mary we learn she (supposedly) actively participates in saving the world and guides Christians throughout their lives and presents them to God at their death.

That’s a mighty crowded cross.

Rome denies Christ His singular Lordship and completely usurps the role and purpose of the Holy Spirit. A two-fer.

From this self-deception it’s easy to see how Rome further parcels out the glory of Christ and the grace of God by giving it to “another Christ.”

“(The papacy’s) lofty vaunting of the false teachers, who wished to be deemed the organs of the Holy Spirit, and assumed to themselves all the authority of God.” — John Calvin, Jer. III:203.

So the posters on this thread mainly constitute thoughts of Seventh Day (Sunday isn't the Sabbath) Adventists , Jehovah Witnesses, Four Square UFO worshipers, Unitarians and few if any protestants. What a revelation. So few if any volume posters take the bible seriously.

So much for the reformation. Must I now also represent the apparent abandoned protestant contingent bereft of supporters. The vestiges of birth control /p>

Since most on this thread apparently do not believe in God, Jesus , Trinity, it is apparent that these aforementioned and their sycophant admirers are prime candidates for agnosticism/ atheism or even Allah.

It might be necessary for the moderator to establish a complete new set of rules. Oh wait ,he just did that.

INDEED.

Otherwise the ranks of the rabid cliques would be thinned drastically immediately.

What fun would there be THEN!

LOL.

Which brings me back around to my point, somehow. I would rather be subjected to a vile stream of profane obscenities than some of the pious knife twisting that goes on in the religion forum. At least then I know what’s being said, and so does everyone else.

I much agree. However, I seem to manage to get the core of the meaning across without much trouble. LOL.

But, you left out Catholics with a quadology (4 persons in 1 holy trinity), Catholics who dont believe the bible and worship Mary, Queen of Heaven, who does all the work of Christ, and is the One that the Plan of Salvation is really all about. Go the complete circle, don't leave out the half of it.

no, apparently there was stunned silence, and then great applause and laughter, and the realization that so much could be summed up in so little.

The Tragic (constrained) vision of human nature views man as possessing foibles, incentives, and the desire to act in his own self-interest. The Tragic “sees the evils of the world as deriving from the limited and unhappy choices available, given the inherent moral and intellectual limitations of human beings.”...
The Utopian (unconstrained) vision holds that man has not yet achieved his full moral potential, and that that potential is essentially perfectible. It is “foolish and immoral choices explain the evils of the world - and that wiser or more moral and humane social policies are the solution.”

These different “Visions”, as Sowell calls them, are irreconcilable. Our Utopian Romanist FRiends believe that things should be moderated by “reason” as dictated by select elites. The Tragics here see the Utopians for what they are, Liberals.

I’m reasonably confident you are aware . . .

that

in terms of “inflammatory” there are a dozen to 2 dozen—certainly 10 or more

rabid clique sorts who will tirelessly and relentlessly do everything they can until Jesus comes

to get everything Dr E and I post labeled “inflammatory” and bannable—regardless of the facts.

Given your level of anointing and wisdom, that has rarely concerned me.

I just hope they don’t grind you down.

I haven’t seen any Catholics on this thread or anywhere else that meet your definition so must surmise that they do not frequent this thread. It is all in the definition in describing the term .

A thorough analysis of why the allegedly bible loving protestants posters no longer follow the word of Jesus needs to be examined.

For Christians it would be well to remember LK 12 :9

As not to offended the unwashed, God bless to all Christians.
