Certainly.
Thanks for your kind words.
When multiple sources all cite the same Vatican Document with the same or similar language it is corroborative. There would only be a problem if they differ.
Try to keep up.
No sweat.
My use of
Almighty/Father God was because I SUSPECTED there might be a miscommunication about terms by my 2nd communication on the topic.
However, WHEN AFTER my use of Almighty/Father God to signify precisely which part of the Trinity I was referring to, there was another VIVID post [vivid being fine with me] to the effect that MARY WAS THE MOTHER OF ALMIGHTY GOD, it
SEEMED clear that
that
was
your position.
I’m relieved to learn that you continued to misunderstand my term and that you do not believe that nonsense.
Is to apply methods to define other's religious terms that they aren't willing to apply to their own.
Though that may better be described as hypocrisy.
It was thoughtless neglect, not deliberate.
I thought of it at an early point but went ahead with my writing and by then had forgotten before I hit post.
Sorry.
That is not clear from scripture at all...
God took on human flesh so that He would be like as we are...
No one could have killed His flesh had he not had the same corruptible body as we have...
Jesus suffered pain...Pain is the result of the fall of Adam and Eve...
Jesus endured temptation...He wasn't immune to it...
If the body of Jesus didn't have original sin, then he wasn't like us at all...He only looked like us...
None of the verses you posted suggest differently...
That does throw a monkey wrench into your gears tho...That means Mary couldn't have been sinlesss...
No problem.
My fierceness is against heretical ideas . . .
and
to provoke soul searching thought on the part of those still capable of or given to such.
Folks who find 0.000000000000% beneit in my provocative posts should probably avoid reading them.
I realize we all see through a glass darkly.
I realize we are all flawed in our thinking, reasoning, assessing, perceiveing etc.
I simply do best stating things starkly and vividly. That has a place in the exchange of ideas and the challenge to all Believers to examine themselves . . . and to exhort one another.
I certainly know I’m not one size fits all.
Alamo-Girl has clarified the matter by informing me that many Christians use the term “Almighty” to refer exclusively to God the Father. So, yes, I misunderstood what you meant. I had never heard of that restricted use of the word “Almighty” before.
The whole controversy is over as far as I'm concerned.
In other words, there aren't any Catholics who understand your religion either...
I'm thinking it's not nearly as complicated as you make it out to be...
No one's interested in the whos, the whys or hows...It's the finished product that we're interested in...And it can all be summed up in short sentences...
For example, it's your claim that Jesus is the Mother of God (the Son)...Now we know the Catholic church's position on that issue...
The rest of the issues can pop out just as easily...And we understand what you are saying so let's not pretend it's some mysterious, magical top secret set of documents that only the Grand Wizard can understand...
Apparently I was right when I figured you couldn't come up with anything...
LoL...Nail, meet Hammer...
It is unfortunately true that many don't, but that is not the case of the frequent Catholic posters in the Religion Forum.
And it can all be summed up in short sentences..."
Really, isn't that why there are tens of thousands of Protestant denominations all disagreeing over the meaning of "simple" short sentences versus one Holy Catholic Church?
According to one of your Catholic cohorts, You will not possibly be able to understand the catechism without years of study in the footnotes, scripture, history, ancient languages and customs and wardrobes...
So good luck to ya...
It is a dubious feeling to be misquoted and not cited, but I said "study" not "years of study". Regardless of the time involved, takes more than YOPIC (Your Own Personal Interpretation of the Catechism) obtained in a few Google sessions to gain an understanding sufficient to formulate a cogent opinion.
Besides, you have absolutely no way of knowing what Jvette's Catholic education is or any qualifications to actually judge it.
Thanks for your input...
Perhaps these differences will never be resolved...but they are far enough apart and away from the truth of God's word that it is difficult to fellowship with those who pay homages to statues and have rituals which imo oppose the clear revealed word of God. There are just too many "other" requirements for catholics to fulfill in keeping with what Rome requires and or that their beliefs determine necessary. IMO Christ gets lost in all the ritual and worship and distractions from Him...and rather lift the church above Him directly and indirectly. He is not that complicated....nor that confusing as much of what catholics depict and claim He is...and too much importance is placed on all the "other" areas and things...thus and again Christ is lost in the shuffle. These threads themsleves attest to that as they are always the same issues...Mary Worship etc.
