MY GUESS:

BECAUSE

in their heart of hearts and in their spirits

THEY KNOW they've stepped on God's toes and foisted the Mary personage into forbidden territory.

So, they HAVE to pull out the stops shoehorning her into every remotely conceivable verse in the Bible

IN ORDER TO JUSTIFY THEIR OUTRAGES.

STILL DOESN'T WASH--BUT LOOK AT ALL THOSE SCRIPTURES THEY CAN POINT TO PRETENDING THAT THEY SUPPORT THEIR OUTRAGEOUS FANTASIES!

Only the deluded are comforted by such farcical nonsense.

However, it doesn't take much to comfort the deluded.

. . . . UNTIL they have to face God--particularly on the more outrageous blasphemies and idolatries, that is.

Since we are not Jews, we see, interpret the Old Testament not as Jews do.

We see the Old Testament through the eyes of the New Testament.

Parallels and types are a common means of doing so. For both Protestants and Catholics.

Jush one more ansher. I'm no' addicteda FR. I can quit whenever I wan', no, really. I really love you, man.

The differences in OPINION do not track the differences in RITE. Pelousy is in the same rite as I. Her problems (IMHO) probably arise from her father's cynical politics and her own cynical approach to Jesus AND to a bunch of pastors (bishops and priests) who are gonna have some splainin' to do when they show up at the pearly gates. At least Patrick Kennedy's bishop yanked his chain pretty firmly.

But Sean Hannity uses artificial birth control, and has mentioned it on air. He's just a disobedient Catholic.

From what I gather from my Maronite acquaintances there are obedient and thoughtful Maronites and disobedient and thoughtless ones. Piety and impiety cut across the lines drawn by the various rites.

I've heard there are Baptists who drink and, ahem, party, too. And Presbyterians who think that they have to do good stuff to get into heaven. Repenting on Sunday for what one did on Saturday and means to do on Monday is not confined to any Rite, or, evidently, to any denomination.

But an important note here is that we understand ourselves as a hospital for sinners. We are not surprised when people fail, even if they fail year after year. We are here for them, and we know we also fail and are glad the Church is here for us.

AND we take very seriously the whole 'members of the body' image of Corinthians. I have a gift for and an obsession about this stuff. My idea of a great way to spend an afternoon -> evening is with a bottle of good whiskey and a good theological question. Not everyone in the Church has my problem. And some just don't do theology. They're not cut out for it. But they shine in loving the poor or in depth of prayer.

In fact the sorrow of our breaches, to me, is that none of us can just focus on loving Jesus the best we can, the best HE gives us to do. Instead I spend needless time on apologetics. and the vulnerable all over are susceptible to being 'harvested' for less than excellent reasons by persuasive recruiters for either side. I know for a fact that some people became Catholics without having a clue what the Church really teaches or why. I'm sure traffic has gone the other way for similar reasons.

Any organization which claims to be there for all human beings is bound to have a bunch of people who have no clue why they are part of it.

The problem is, Did Jesus (and Whatsisname, Peter) use Greek or Aramaic when they chatted over a breakfast of fish?
If that's where they came up with the ICTHYS thing, I'm guessing Greek ...

(Doesn’t that sound GOOD? Fresh fish for breakfast? Wow!)
All kidding aside, poached fresh fish for breakfast is delicious!

OK you’ve given me a start here and i appreciate your post very much. So who are the Jews that go into the tribulation, who is Israel in the tribulation, who does God prepare a place in the wilderness for the woman to go? Israel or Catholics going through the tribulation? I really would like an answer. Is God dealing with Israel and Catholics during the trib. See the problem I’m having here with this?

Sorry, Simeon knew Jesus was the Messiah when Mary and Joseph presented Him in the temple.

Truly said.

The differences then would be that Mary was informed by the angel Gabriel, Peter received a divine revelation from God the Father and Simeon upon whom the Holy Ghost already rested received a divine revelation from the Holy Ghost.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Simeon; and the same man [was] just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. - Luke 2:25-26

God's Name is I AM.

Thanks for you kind reply. You’ve asked a lot of big questions to me and they deserve a reply. It’s late here and I’m tired and it would take more than I have now to do it justice. I hope some others, more knowledgeable than I as well, will pick up some slack.

I will make this point that might help to give clarity to the differing eschatology of some Protestants and that of Catholicism.

Catholics view the theology of premillennial dispensationalism as a relatively recent fundamentalist construct. This means it wouldn’t be a structure you could tightly fit Catholic views into in each of its aspects.

good night all, and God bless...

are way more out of touch with mainstream Catholicism than they claim we are.

Exactly! However, when I read the words 'you don't know' - I laugh. They have NO idea what/who I know. But that's not the point - the point is - that's a cop out when they can't defend the indefensible.

There is only so much TRUTH some Catholics can take - then they go into 'thin skin' mode and ACCUSE, ATTACK and "quietly" use the 'personal' relief.

Then you get "where's the Scripture for that"; meanwhile they are more led by church doctrine that Scripture. You know - that church doctrine - that no one knows but them. ;)

"&c . . .The very woman who attended Mass regularly and adhered to the catholic church...yet she believes in Abortion for woman...that homosexuals have a right to marry.....at the same time cannot explain what she believes...."

Where is God in all of this in the lives of believers? Where is the work of the Holy Spirit (Philippians 1:6; 2:13)? Where is the teaching principle of grace (Titus 2:11-13)?

Sure, we all know there are baby Christians; immature in understanding.

The subjects of killing babies and people having sex with and "marrying" someone of the same sex. Well far too many just plain sensible unregenerate people have these things figured out.

How long can a regenerate, saved person go on, from the time of the New Birth having taken place, before the killing of babies and sodomy become abhorrent to them in their spirit?

People who don't have the Holy Spirit in residence are not Christ's (Romans 8:9). People who have the Holy Spirit are being schooled and disciplined by the Holy Spirit (Hebrews ch. 12; passages cited above; etc.).

These are obviously extremely serious matters affecting the testimony of the Body of Christ; its effectiveness in its commissions.

Religious people who "adhere" to any system, claiming to be Christians, and can go for any substantial time without abhorring killing babies and sodomy have not experienced the New Birth or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

ultimate exercise in mind reading.

Well, look at you addressing mind reading. When you have done the same to me and I let it pass because I'm not thin skinned and didn't think you were either. Now I see differently. There are Catholics and there are thin skinned Catholics. Is that a new denomination?
