Snort - look at the reality, ONE place in the entire spectrum of “Christian” denominations has held the line on the clear teaching of Our Lord regards divorce, birth control, sodomy, marriage and ordination of women, the divorced and remarried, the sodomite, etc. ONE True Church is what Our Lord gave us, One True Church has survived for us since His First Coming and you want to mock that True Church. Why?

It may be generally observed that groups terms cults manifest three defining characteristics:

1. They teach foundationally aberrant doctrine (such as denying the Deity of Christ)

2. They formally or effectively hold a person and or office as a supreme doctrinal authority above the Scriptures.

3. They use psychologically tactics to foster implicit trust in their hierarchical powers and suppress objective examination of their doctrine.

In contrast is the authority of those who hold Scripture to be supreme and hold to a *basically* literal interpretive basis, as the Bible itself shows. And thus these evangelicals characteristically believe and contend for the foundational truths which we agree with Rome on, having found them Scriptural, and allow a limited degree of disagreement in secondary matters, while contending against cults and the tradition-based teaching of Rome, which are ultimately based upon her own declaration of infallibility.

According to the fundamentalists...YES.
After all, we take the words in scripture literally.

What is the blood covenant all about at the Last supper ?...without this , the Last Supper is just a bon voyage party with no more meaning in any of the scripture in that area.

Just because YOU, like the apostles, can’t “understand’ the mystery of wine to blood and bread to body and God making a covenant and dying and rising and being Alive among us.....well, join the crew..We take these things on FAITH!

You are neither an etymologist nor a grammarian, right?

Are you listening to yourself? Do you have any idea? really? My claim is that you seem to have no idea what I’m talking about. The Bible is OUR FRIEND.

“Then why don’t you provide it?”

Because I’m not the one trying to prove a point. The original poster of that information is.

The only point I make is that the BARNA group is a PROTESTANT group involved in CHURCH PLANTING.

Then I salute you, and thank you. You are one of the few. Too bad those I know personally don’t follow such an example.

When does it change then? I don’t recall eating any raw flesh. It was always a wafer.

And forget drinking the cup. It didn’t happen in my day. Communion was the bread only. Maybe that’s changed some in the last few years, but for centuries the Catholic church never allowed its adherents to celebrate communion completely. it was only part of the communion, the bread part.

You seem to be so full of anger. Apparently your faith gives you no peace. What a terrible way to live. You do realize, don't you, that your behavior is the best argument against whatever faith tradition you're espousing?

Consider instead 1 Cor 13:1: "If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing." And how are we to recognize this charity (love)? Futher on, St. Paul writes: "Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes." The chapter concludes with this: "In short, there are three things that last: faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love."

Miss that, and you've missed the whole point of Christianity.

What you're claiming to be true, isn't. So until the clanging stops and the charity starts, I'm done. This time for good.

71% of U.S. Catholic population growth since 1960 is due to Hispanics (2001) U.S. Census Bureau.

Excepting the above, religious bodies bodies gaining members between 1990 and 2000 generally are considered “Conservative Protestants,” while most of those showing a decrease in number of adherents generally are considered “Moderate” or “Liberal” Protestants. http://www.glenmary.org/grc/RCMS_2000/Catholic_findings.htm

39% U.S. Catholics are Hispanic, with 67% of Latinos voting for Obama over McCain. USCCB Committee on Hispanic Affairs. Hispanic Ministry at the Turn of the New Millennium, 1999

When all else fails, claim anger and hatre from your opponent, even when there’s none indicated.

There is simply no way to tell inflection of voice nor emotions by facial expression in written words.

This constant claiming that written words display anger and/or hate when there’s no indication of that just comes across as a weak excuse to bail.
