You don't.....
Words fail me.....
That which we call a rose by any other name.....Nope. Sorry sister, but calling a rose a lily doesn't make it one, and claiming that veneration = worship doesn't make it so. That you have been told this again and again and you persist in misrepresenting the facts takes away any claim to truth or Christian fellowship you might make. How sad is that?
“Seems like the argument that “we don’t worship Mary” is ONLY a matter of semantics.”
LOL, you have ears and you do not hear. How sad.
“It’s incredible that any aware human on the planet would expect any other informed, discerning, aware human on the planet to believe that brazenly and demonstrable false assertion.”
Right. And UFO visits are part of the world view of those who would call me a LIAR. Sorry - no pass. Try again. Demonstrate that you have me in a LIE or crawl on your belly with an apology.
Then how about you explain it? Just so I don’t get it ‘wrong’ again. It MUST be so frustrating for you, venerating and worshipping, and we just don’t “get it”. I would LOVE a good message I could actually HEAR about it.
As is often the case for those with limited vocabularies and lacking formal training within a specific field.
Is it just me, or do you feel just so STOOPID for not ‘getting’ the difference between veneration and worship? Evidently it’s so easy a caveman could get it, and yet here we are...
“Then how about you explain it?”
Easy. There is the worship of God - in Latin it is LATRIA. That belongs to God alone. Then there is the respect we show those who are deserving of veneration, in Latin that is DULIA. For that unique woman who, while human, is venerated over all other humans because of her Immaculate Conception, that veneration is called HYPER-DULIA.
When we ask the Saints in Heaven or our even neighbors here on Earth (or even fellow FReepers, such as yourself - and please do pray for me, I have great confidence that Our Lord will hear you and will act) for their prayers, we do so out of respect and veneration for them, when we ask Mary the Holy Mother of God for her prayers, it is both that same respect and a recognition of her special, unique place as she asks her Son, Our Lord for favor.
Does that help?
I get it. A billion fellow Catholics get it. Many who have lived for two aeons got it. I will pray that my simple, and no doubt flawed efforts will help you understand.
Semantics?
Oh, right,
weasel words.
. . . understand your reluctance to admit ignorance
Hmmmmmmm
a rules comprehension problem again?
I’ve admitted my ignorance about a lot of things on FR.
It has appeared over the years that I’ve done so many times more than the next runner up . . . and probably than the next 10 runners up.
Thankfully, it’s virtually impossible to be ignorant about the idolatry and blasphemy that saturates the Vatican reps hereon vis a vis Mary etc.
Still having problems with the rules?
No HINT of an apology is warranted.
Help?
Probably depends on perspective.
A ROSE IS A ROSE IS A ROSE.
WEASEL WORDS ARE WEASEL WORDS ARE WEASEL WORDS.
WRAPPING THE WEASEL WORDS IN LAYERS OF WHITE HANKEYS
STILL LEAVES THEM WEASEL WORDS.
It's just a matter of splitting hairs.
God has committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is his will, that we obtain everything through Mary.- Ubi Primum.
quack quack
Fascinating Proddys . . .
Sometimes I wonder if some of our RC correspondents are even old enough to hold a job.
Even in this crazy era . . . most folks I know . . . say who work at WalMart . . . If the Store Manager tells the dairy crew that the Store Manager has complete faith in the SUPURB job the Dairy Manager is doing . . . and a few days later the dairy stock boy comes to bypass the Dairy Manager with some whine . . . most folks I know would think that would be a bit insulting to the Store Manager’s judgment of the Dairy Manager.
Or is it that some RC’s just CANNOT or WILL NOT pay attention to such realities any more than they seem to pay attention to God’s Word and standards?
Fascinating psychology and sociology.
More like splitting hairs on a hairless chihuahua.
