Oh WOW! I didn’t know - thanks metmom for that info. I see more clearly now what all of you are/have been up against in your commitment to and ZEAL for God’s Word.

And your commitment brought LIGHT onto the darkness - that cannot be denied!

Long live ZEAL for THE TRUTH - we will never tone it down!

A little zeal for the truth would be nice.

I don't care how you slice it. Saying that the Catholic Church forbids married priests is not saying the truth.

;) Right. But you exposed the many many many deceptions and only pride can keep them from NOT accepting The Truth. For if any had lack of knowledge or understanding - they can’t claim that anymore. And YOU saw to that with posting The Truth vs deception and handed it to them on a platter.

Men who were married before and their wife died? Or men who are priests, decide to marry and can stay in the priesthood?

YOUR 'married priests' means what to you - you want to explain that? Or is saying I'm lying with one of the church changes with a 'gotcha'.

In my time, NO priests or brothers were allowed to marry. So don't accuse me of lying. The RCC changes 'their rules' all the time. UNLIKE the WORD of God that NEVER CHANGES - and HIS church never changes since it's consistent with His Word.

Since when?

Or is that only reserved for the popes?

Well, if we're going to talk about "lame," I'd like to play too. Where I come from making such a charge then having your homies make jokes about it while the request for an explanation receives no response, now THAT's lame..

No, that was me being offline. I wasn't looking for a response but thanks.

My "homies" made fun of you freely with no coercion from me. Ridicule of another's beliefs is an accepted practice on the religion forum. Remember, on open threads, thin-skinned posters are the disrupters.

The charge stands. It's lame.

The charge stands. It's lame. The absence of an answer to my request for an explanation also stands. Repeating a charge doesn't affect its truth value.

Since the late 16th century at least in some rites.

Ridicule of beliefs is acceptable on "open" Religion Forum threads. However, ridicule of Freepers, personally, is making the thread 'about' them and therefore is "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Men who were married before and their wife died? Or men who are priests, decide to marry and can stay in the priesthood?

At least since the late fifteen hundreds century men who are married can become priests in some rites.

So unless you are VERY old indeed, this has not changed.

I did not accuse you of lying, because that means you intended the falsehood. I did say you said something false.

However, proclaiming something which is false with an air of certainty does suggest the possibility of a little carelessness about truth, a little over-zealousness.

This is not a "gotcha." You made a series of charges about the Catholic Church. One of them was based on at least one error of fact. Therefore the charge was, at best, doubtful. That's all.

OK, and I did say his statement was lame, not he himself.

I am not perfect and have made mistakes, but sometimes, as a child of God, those are my best moments for it is from them that I learn...

We are all in that category. Always learning and growing with an open and willing heart. We are unable to be perfect but The Word is. And we are covered by the perfect spotless Blood of the Lamb and that is what God sees when He looks at us!

acid reflux

Ah, I'll PM you on that!

Oh never mind, I found it. (I'm still catching up on posts working backwards and will never get to sleep at this rate)

You: Perhaps you could give a detailed explanation taking my entire argument into account

Perhaps you could restate your entire argument so I can be sure I understand it. I will never get back that far in my pings without getting distracted by conversations I'm ghaving on other threads.

To your question, Do you realize how Lame that is, I replied:

No, I don't. Perhaps you could give a detailed explanation taking my entire argument into account.

FOr the sake of efficiency, while you askedTHAT is your scripture that justifies making Mary the "Queen of Heaven"?

I don't recall saying that it was my Scripture that justified anything.

Actually, I’m okay with things as they are. You called my argument lame, but you don’t know what my argument was and you don’t remember why you called it lame because you’re busy.

I said your statement was lame and I remember exactly why. I just don’t remember what your argument was for it’s soundness. Sorry. If you remember it, I’m not too busy right now to hear it.
