Romney: "I would imagine that Muslims could serve at lower levels of my administration."
Well, first a president can not save anyone,
But if you are saying Christians want a mighty man of God as president, I agree.
A woman marries a liberal. They divorce after 8 years.
Then she marries a conservative. She divorces him after 8 years.
Then she marries the liberal of liberals. She sees the error of her ways, and plans for an "earlier" divorce this time. (4 yrs.)
But she wants to hang on to him right now for "sugardaddy" status reasons, but needs to start grooming her next guy.
She sees that the best-looking, most reputable/notorious name in town (depending on who you talk to) is available; but this guy's so all over the board with his track record, the Waffle House could have been named after him. Obviously not a very stable choice for an unstable woman.
But, worse, after 20 years of marriages, she begins to finally look at her still impressionable young teens and pre-teens at home. If she marries a "conservative in Name only," how will they define "conservative" for the rest of their life?
Time to take our conservative legacy back into our hands. Sometimes it's even better to actually lose a political race, than to lose the whole conservative movement. Otherwise, you get what we have today: Republicans who take so-called "conservative" stances are often taking the same stances "moderate Democrats" took for years; and "moderates" on both sides of the aisle are out-and-out "liberals" by previous standards. If we slide into a "conservatism" who embrace liberalism in all but a few areas, you might as well dump the very word.
Slippage occurs. The we don't need the great slider, leading a mass of Rombots to the conservative Republican graveyard.
Not going to happen. lds first everything else second. Note the 92% vote for Romney in Utah in the primary, even though he is a liberal.
How do like what we have now?
If the republicans are stupid enough to choose a clone of Obamacare, gay loving, pro-choice, lying, not to be trusted RINO like Romney, they deserve what happens to them. I will be voting for an actual conservative.
Why do you think this guy Rubio in Florida is having so much trouble down here? When everyone believed Rubio was conservative, he had the lead, but Charlie “gay” Crist is beating him now. Rubio made the mistake of hitching his wagon to Romney and coming out against the AZ border defense law at almost the same time. People don’t trust him any more. They think he’s just another Crist/Romney, otherwise known as turncoat RINO, waiting to happen. If the republican party doesn’t understand that RINOs mean death, they are going to find out the hard way.
In other words, run Romney as the presidential candidate and they are going to find out there is no way he can win. I’m praying they are not that stupid.
Amen! Liberalism/socialism/Progressivism seem to be easier to accept than Mormonism. That's disturbing to me.
To say that Romney will not make it out of the primary has zero to do with that narcissistic, anti-American, anti-Semitic misogynistic, socialist with delusions of godhood as a presiendent now.
Romney was never my first choice, Fred Thompson was. Having said that, McCain and Huckabee made it certain Obama was elected. And why? Because people with "principals" could not vote for someone because he was a Morman. Sleep tight.
I will not support Romney because he is a flipping liberal. If you want to believe otherwise there is nothing I can do about that.
I don’t care that Romney is Mormon. If he were a good solid conservative, he’d be worth backing. Problem is he’s a RINO. I saw what happened to Mass. under his watch.
Let me put it this way. It is 2012 and it is between Obama and Romney. What is your vote?
OK. Hey, we're talking about religious pre-school here. The most basic of math issues, stated religiously.
"OK, preschool class. We're going to discuss math today. And since we're a religious based pre-school, we're going to ask questions in a certain way."
"So, Susie Socialist, how many gods provide for us?"
"My mommy says Obama will save us. So one."
"Lanny Liberal-Atheist, how many gods created us?"
"Teacher, what's a 'god?'"
"Larry Liberal, you're from the same Liberal family, do you want to explain to Lanny that there's a god?"
"Lanny, I don't know who he or she is, but I've heard there is one."
"Morrie Mormon, would you like to enlighten our class as to how many gods there are?"
"Well, my neighbor's grandpa was a leader in our church, and he wrote a book my family goes by.* And he said we have 2 gods; no, 3 gods. Well, he kinda said both. And my dad said when he was in junior high school, he was in the crowd when our biggest leader was telling him that he would be one of the next 225,000 gods.** We have a LOT of gods in our family."
* = Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine book, said in the same book at one point that Lds worship "three...gods" as "the only gods we worship"...but then less than 300 pages later (p. 848) says that only two are worshiped -- "the Father and the Son are the objects of all true worship"
For Christians, we believe Mormons have not only flunked math, but multiplication as well. Christians indeed worship both the Father and the Son, yet we don't worship "two" gods. One times one = one. You get volume by multiplication. And the underlying Greek word for "volume" is imbedded in Col. 2:9 in that Greek word for "fullness," where it says God fully indwelled bodily in Jesus Christ. And when you add the Holy Spirit in, it's still 1x1x1=1.
** = "Brethren, 225,000 of you are here tonight. I suppose that 225,000 of you may become gods" ( The Ensign, November 1975, 1980).
IOW, TigersEye, even a lot of liberals and socialists and progressives will tell you there's "one God." They may not be able to elaborate beyond that basic math, but some of them may at least pass this religious pre-school "test." Whereas Mormons? One God? Monotheism as the foundation of the Judeo-Christian faith? You've got to be kidding.
This doesn't amaze me that they are so clueless. They believe they will become gods over us common people, accept outrageous claims from a charlatan, believe he 'translated' an egyptian papyrus written by the hand of Abraham, etc, etc. What amazes me is that this many Americans actually DO correctly categorize mormonism as a cult not worthy of the title Christian.
Get stoned for thirty five years.
Today I honestly do not know except I will not vote for that demon in the WH.
That’s the best I can tell you.
If that is the contest, Obama wins.
RomneyCARE neutralizes ObamaCARE.
Romney support of illegals neutralizes Obama's.
Romney's parents of Mexican birth neutralize the Obama absent birth certificate issue.
Romney's destruction of Massachusetts neutralizes Obama's destruction of America.
Romney's destruction of the Mass. Constitution to impose gay marriage neutralizes Obama's destruction of the US Constitution.
And by making the carpetbagging backstabber the candidate,
given that Team Romney attacked Gov Palin during Election 2008 to throw the election to Obama,
most Americans would agree that the GOP would not deserve to win, anyway.
This Boston Globe article makes much of the Iowa primary in '08 race...(if you click on the link go down to the 8th, 9th and 10th paragraphs, you'll see what I mean).
What's "funny" is that even the Globe gives in to describing what happened in Iowa as somehow representative --if only partially so -- of "religious bigotry." Yet, Romney still got almost 1 in 5 Evangelicals in Iowa (19%) to vote for him.
So as you said SVCW, imagine if 19% of Utah Republican voters had voted for Huckabee? So 92-95% of Mormons in Western states like Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Arizona voted for Romney -- all of whom have about 8% of their population or more as Mormons (and a much higher % of the Republican base) -- and that's not "religious bigotry," but if Romney can't get 20% of the Iowa Christian vote, that somehow is? (Hypocritical reporting)
Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Very well succintly stated-eth.
