Yea he had the nerve to say what the inspired word of God says.. isn't that just subversive..
Titanites: There are many definitions of brother. The context I was using it in refers to those in need: who are hungry or thirsty, in need of shelter, need clothing, are sick or in prison. Matthew 25-46 will help you with the context. Pay special attention where the Lord says ”I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."

RnMomof7: You may see it that way, but if we are seeking truth and to find how God determines who is our brother.. The goats are not my brethren, the teaching of the universal "brotherhood of man " is not found in scripture.. That is a rather new non biblical theology

Theirs was a legalistic religion that did not know its own purpose

THAT sure sounds like the VATICAN EDIFICE and sub-fossilizations, alright! To the max!

because she believed

What is so incomprehnensible about that, to RC's? . . . AND that her belief came BEFORE HER CONCEPTION?

Let us see those quotes.

Acts 9: 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" 5 He said, "Who are you, sir?" The reply came, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6 Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do."

Quotes from God. Good. This is very good. Do you have any other?

Lets see if we can cover just some of the high points.

The Temple had a group of clerics who determined whether interpretation was correct or not. Roman Catholicism has a magisterium.

The Temple had an elevated priesthood making sacrifices. Roman Catholicism elevates it’s priests and they claim to offer sacrifices.

The Temple had priests that could go into the Holy of Holies. Roman Catholicism claims it’s priests can act as conduits to God for forgiveness of sins.

Judaism required adherence to certain feast days and Jews were required to go to the Temple to offer sacrifices. Roman Catholicism requires RCs to go to their services and follow their rituals.

Not only that one count, Paul was given revelationS from Christ. It wasn’t just a one-time thing. Maranatha!

Thanks, stfassisi, I did misread it.

you SEEM to be saying calvin was a forerunner in building hospitals-which is far from accurate since there were many Catholic Hospitals way before calvin was born

You are correct. Hospitals were invented by the Church well before the Deformation came along.

Yes, we have been through this a couple of times. Yet, as I have pointed out, the revelations are doled out piecemeal and only in the context of the conversation or argument that Paul has at the time. There is no story of the revelation to Paul as it was to John. Except for Acts 9 - three verses - does Paul ever claim quotes from God? I do not downplay Paul’s role, but I will not accept Paul being elevated over Christ and the primary source of belief for Christianity.

Mark, now you know I've given you the scriptures for the REVELATIONS before. You KNOW it was more than one. Plural.

Sounds like that reading comprehension problem on the circuit, again.

Whatever. Please remember that I have no personal interest in you whatsoever. Nor in your opinion of me. Kindly confine your comments to me to the usual colorful, uneducated anti-Catholic diatribes for which you are justly renowned.

Fascinating. Have the Beatitudes been redacted from yet another Calvinist Bible? Has Matthew 25 been purged? Has the Sermon on the Plain been shredded? Have the Two Commandments of Jesus been repudiated?

Or the more likely answer, Rome raped many of the poor countries and their riches are now squirreled away in the Vatican while the Protestant work ethic built countries like America.

There's an over-active imagination at work.
