I’d still go the SS short term disability route, they back pay it. Even with the lawyer getting 25% it could be a big chunk of change. He worked for it, and paid into, now let it work for him. Because you just don’t know how long he’s going to be laid up and this doesn’t come under workers comp.
Prayers for your son-in-law’s health.
Sam’s mother called her preacher (they’re Baptist) and asked him to put Sam on the church’s prayer chain, which they did, and they called the Baptist church here in this town, and they have put him on the prayer chain.
For this church here, the prayer warriors drive by the person’s house, stop in front, and say the prayers there. They told us that people would be stopping all evening, and all day tomorrow. I’m amazed that people would go to that much trouble...
My son’s wife came to town today to see my son-in-law, the two couples are friends, have been for 21 years. She and daughter went to lunch, then to the hospital. They sent some cash just for the kids to be able to buy their dad a present without having to ask their mom for the money.
Sam has morphine on demand, there’s a button he can push when he starts feeling uncomfortable, that will deliver a dose. They got him up to walk today, and I think that was kind of painful, but he’s feeling better this evening.
Thank you, everyone, so much.
That’s a good idea. After the pathology report comes back on Friday, I’m sure Sam and my daughter will make those decisions.
Prayers up for Sam’s speedy and uncomplicated recovery, and for the needs of the whole family!
in my prayers
Prayers said for all concerned!
Prayers up from here!
May the Holy Spirit surround and embrace this family
May comfort come, may gentleness come, may the kindness of friends and family be overflowing for these , this beautiful young family.
May the children's’ hearts be touched with peace, assurance security and hope.
May strength be given to Judith Anne
May restful sleep come to her and all those who reach out to and for these in this, their time of trial. So that , hands on the plow, they are sharp eyed and focused. And thoughtful and generous in the giving they do to help Sam and his Family.
And for a young Catholic Mother
May Mother Mary herself , Mother of all mothers, who knows the suffering of a Son
Be with you, embrace you, walk with you and ever watch over you and your young children.
And may the beautiful flowers Mother brings comfort you, still you and bring you wonderful glowing peace.
May the very hand of God rain grace down upon you all and touch you to your very cores.
May the children and all involved know that this, this compassion witnessed in their lives now, the moving of others for them, is the true path
and that forever onward they can look and say “I have seen the hand of God in my life”.
May Sam be well.
Amen
Thanks for the ping.
Thanks so much everyone for the prayers. Sam was just about overwhelmed at the kindness of perfect strangers, praying for his health; he got to visit with his kids last night, they stopped and got flowers for Dad, and gave him the cards they had made at home.
No other news until the pathology report comes back, that is our concern right now, will the lymph nodes be clear.
Thanks again, FReepers are the greatest.
Prayers going heavenwards for you and your son and family. Blessings, Mary
Praying for Sam, your daughter, and the whole family. May God bless Sam with a complete recovery.
Those Baptists sure know how to pray!
(I have a few in my family, too. I love the way they say Grace before meals and manage to pray for everyone and their brothers!)
GOODNESS!
Pinging the END TIMES list for prayers for Judith Anne’s son-in-law . . . cancer of the bowel removed . . . etc.
MAY God have mercy and grant him and them wholeness, peace, health, comfort, direction, serenity in Christ . . .
May your times with the grandkids be precious and relatively stress free.
Just saw this post, been going through some hospital visits myself the past few days (nothing serious). But I am praying for your SIL, daughter, grandkids and you, for God’s grace for healing, strength, comfort, and to draw the entire family closer to each other and the Lord through it all.
Thank you, everyone, from the bottom of my heart. We are all anxious to hear the pathology report tomorrow, to learn what the future holds. I’ll post an update, as soon as we have news.
Again, thank you all. ((hug))
I will pray for Sam and for all of you.
Yes, certainly.
