You’re right. I don’t believe that. I don’t believe that we can know whose side G-d is on. We can only try to be on His side.
And, at the time, Catholicism was not morally superior to Islam, or Judaism, for that matter.
A lot of popular beliefs are wrong, such as the belief in the free lunch.
Even when the wind unexplainably shifts at a key point right before a naval battle?
Whose side was He on when the Spanish (Catholic) armada was defeated in 1588?
If they had had weather satellite's and doppler radar in those days, they might have been able to predict the wind shift.
Was there some kind of miracle associated with this battle that I’m not aware of? God doesn’t act in every human activity.
“Was there some kind of miracle associated with this battle that Im not aware of? God doesnt act in every human activity.”
Several, but most of all, the outmanned English fleet prevailed over the invincible Spanish armada.
One can interpret any favorable outcome as due to miracles. Did G-d provide the typhoon that saved Japan from the Mongol fleet? If so, why? Did G-d provide McClellan with Lee’s battle plans? (If you’re a Southerner, you may attribute this to a different source.)
I’m not qualified to interpret, or to try to influence Divine will, or Divine purpose. You are free to believe that there is Divine will in all those outcomes that you would consider to be positive, but what of all the negative outcomes?
Is this not right out of the Satanic Bible written by Anton LaVey?
