The recent attacks from a number of sources on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) reek of the same prejudice that, in the past, we have often seen used against Jews, Catholics, Muslims, and many others. This kind of behavior needs to be identified and condemned for what it is: religious intolerance and blatant bigotry.
These attacks on the Mormon Church have come in three forms: preaching, publications, and video presentations. Honoring the freedom to speak and preach from the heart, the National Conference takes issue with using the pulpit, any pulpit, to promote misleading, distorted, false and/or bigoted views of any religious body. An example of such a distortion is the growing use and presentation of two videos: "The Godmakers" and "The Godmakers II". These videos, developed by an anti-Mormon group intent upon vilification and hatemongering, are designed to misstate, malign, and encourage the hatred of a well established group of Christian believers and they ought to be repudiated by all people of good will...
...As people of good will, we in the National Conference of Christians and Jews join with our national leaders in the condemnation of any attempt to use one's first amendment religious freedom as a smoke-screen behind which one might hide while engaged in actions which must rightly be named as religious bigotry.

Wow. You know if you want to believe a lot of nonsense, that’s your right, but you might want to draw the line at outright lies.
Who needs a peepstone when you are so predictable?
Fine. Then we agree that Mormons can say others are wrong on this forum, and Christians can equally say Mormons are wrong.
Works for me. So drop the "bigot" line every time you are challenged.
However, only a very contentious person will dig something up said over a hundred years ago to stir up in your face contention. That comes only from a thin skin and a sense of insecurity.
Methinks thou doest protest too much.
What Christ said 2,000 years ago is just as valid today as then. The problem you have broncobilly is that those quotes I gave from your very own leaders highlight serious cracks in the LDS visage.
19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
John 3: 19-21
I also know that Catholics do not consider even the Protestants to be “gentiles” or of the Devil as the Mormons consider the True Historical Christian faiths. Indeed I serve on several ecumenical organizations with Catholics, Baptist, Episcopalians and others. We break bread and share the blood of Christ together. Hardly an act among enemies.
Perhaps it is you who needs to do further reading. I would start with the very books of the Mormon faith. They seem to do it the most disservice.

Really? Which part is a lie? Can you prove it?
Hey, you’re the one who made the slanderous allegations against Graham and Falwell. The burden of proof lies with you. Besides, if past posts are any indication, real evidence one way or the other doesn’t hold much sway with you anyhow. Kind of like Democrats ignoring the track record of the Clintons while chanting their “Bush lied” mantra.
What was said over a hundred years ago, by the LDS prophets, is the basis for Mormon doctrine, faith, and practice. Why are you so dismissive of the LDS prophets who allegedly spoke on behalf of God?
Additionally, what was said by the LDS prophets, and what established LDS doctrine, quite often contradicts the Bible and historic Christian doctrine.
In fact, the LDS organization's inception was at the visitation of alleged heavenly visitors who told Joseph Smith that all Christian Church's, and their professors, are wrong.
The LDS posters on this website have made it quite clear that they are here to advance their LDS faith (as the one and true faith). Do you refer to this as an attack on historic Christianity?
Are you refering to that Huckabee ad? :)
He might not be here to prove anything...but just here to disrupt the thread and possibly get it shut down.
Excuse me, sir, but you are making a slanderous accusation against me. I did not accuse anyone named Graham or Falwell of anything. You, on the other hand, are making personal accusations against me. Perhaps you should take that into consideration.
Personal attacks are not allowed.
I hope not. I don’t like for the lamestreamers to be able to blame me for getting a thread shut down when I didn’t do it.
Me too.
How are you, OMm? It has been a little while. How have you been?
If you were not referring to Graham and Falwell, then who are the Billy and Jimmy that you referenced?
By the way, OMm...What does the PITA in your tagline stand for?
Fine. Then which “Billy and Jerry” were you alluding to with your accusations? If you were referencing someone other than Graham and Falwell, then indeed, you have my apology.
Just figments of my imagination. You see, when I take some obviously flagrant lie about Joseph Smith and put a couple of other names on it, some people go bonkers. Tsk, tsk.
You will have to ask the Admin Moderator about that. Admin moderator hung that on me and I decided to keep it.
The interesting point is that mainstreamers can say anything they wish about Brother Joseph and you folks consider that okay but if you even think I am saying something bad about your precious Billy or Jerry or even Jimmy, you lose it.
I think it is a very interesting double standard.
Now, I will accept your personal apology.
What is a lamestreamer?
