Philanthropy is all find and dandy (for what its worth). What does it profit a man if they gain the world but lose their soul? I don’t think that the matter having the greatest gravity is the degree or magnitude of one’s altruism, philanthropy or humanitarianism.
Albert Schwizer is probably a drop in the bucket with regards to what the RCC has accomplished. However, whatever Schwizer’s altruism and philanthropy accomlished in this world, I have no clue what that’s doing for him in the next. Nevertheless, based on what I know about the theology that Schweizer espoused, and depending on your beliefs concerning salvation, you might agree with me that presently he’s not in a very happy place at all.
So I don’t see what point it is that you’re belaboring.
You actually believe that Protestants have fed more people in c. 500 years than the Catholic Church has in 2000? OK.
When I accepted Christ and was born again at the age of 25, I attended a Southern Baptist church. There I remained for 5 years. When I married at age 30, my wife and I chose, under the leading of God, to attend an Assembly of God church with which we were very familiar. That was 1990, and we have been serving and attending there ever since.
Ask your pastor if there is a difference between feeding a man’s stomach and feeding his soul.
I am not talking about salvation. I am talking about good works. Period.
And *sigh* yes, I know that good works do not earn salvation. I never said they did.

Thanks. You said it much better than I.
Sure, dude.
You actually believe the Roman Catholic church has been around for 2000 years?
Not actually. You "found" it didn't you? I owe someone who consistantly lies about my Faith unworthy of a such a courtesy.
This is the last ever "ping" I'll make to you. You are a liar and delight in causing discomfort in your fellow Christians. I'll decide who I want to talk about with whom. It's not your call.
Consider this as my shaking off the dust on my shoes from you. Scripture, baby.
Strange that you dismiss the question so easily.
I guess that calls for a "whatever."
And here IT goes again, trying to find out if you are really a Christian. I mean, after all, you didn’t agree with IT! You MUST be some sort of Heathen.
Well, I once saw a tract in the Bible Book store that showed that the Southern Baptist Church was descended directly from the apostles.
It had pictures and everything.
Don’t take the bait.
That wasn’t the question.
You don’t have to answer its questions. I suggest ignoring it. It loves the attention your replies gives it.
It was a response to your condescension. I didn’t “dismiss” the question. I had it answered 20 years ago. I don;t ask my pastor questions to which I already know the answers.
You are looking at this from a theological standpoint. That’s fine.
But, I am looking at this through a strictly historical standpoint.
lol. I thought post 68 was the “last ping” you’d be making to me. And here you are once more breaking the rules by “making it personal” and slinging personal invectives.
Are you Catholic?
