He said it was such a relief to know that when he sinned, God’s grace didn’t disappear but all he had to do was confess his sin and he was forgiven.

Sincere repentance brings forgiveness. This is the primary reason behind the sacrament of reconciliation - and something I believe both Catholics and Protestants believe.

Throughout the Bible, God changed mens names (He did not change Paul’s name), in EACH case it was significant as these men became the leader and their role changed (Abraham, Israel and Peter).

Why would the Lord change Simon’s name to “Pebble” or not give him a different role? Then again, how do Protestants know that the first time Christ said Cephas He meant Peter, but the next time He said Cephas he meant himself?

There's just as much evidence that He spoke it in Zulu...But God chose to preserve His words in Greek...

If Jesus spoke the scripture in Aramaic, none of us would have a New Testament...Course, that'd work out for you guys...You'd have your church built on tradition without being hampered by scripture...
