I read the Luther called reason "the devil's whore" and Calvin thought it was depraved. That may have something to do with what the readiness of the resort to rhetoric and the reluctance to think..
Tra la.
unmitigated hogwash.
... may have something to do withwhatthe readiness of the resort ...
“...the reluctance to think...”
Just don’t get to close to the pile of fags I’m standing on right now, and defintely, defintely (using my rainman voice)definitely don’t light that match.
What year is this?
Mary's part in God's plan for His creation is the topic.
How can someone be a co-redeemer and not be divine? Especially in light of 1 Peter 1:18?
Either Mary is a co-redeemer and therefore divine, or she is not a co-redeemer.
“Either Mary is a co-redeemer and therefore divine, or she is not a co-redeemer.”
This is your conundrum, Dr.Eckleburg, not mine.
I already know what I believe.
Hope you are delivered from your torment soon. (I mean the allergies, not the heresy trial. You will have to burn for an assertion you never made. Sorry. Can't be helped. They say you think she's divine. They said so more than once. Therefore it is true, quite as true as most of what they say.
It may be that "the smoke of their torment goes up for ever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night," but I'm going to go explore the virtues of lying down with closed eyes.
Is Mary "a co-redeemer" and "a dispensatrix of all grace" and "a reconciler of the world?"
If, after not being "reluctant to think," you believe these statements are true, please show us in Scripture where these "facts" are found.
Night, too.
The allergies are much better today with the addition of Benedryl t.i.d, Zyrtec and a new inhaler.
I think I am on the mend. I’ll be able to drag my carcass to Mass at least!
Actually, I think I AM divine! Hubby does too and he’d better if he knows what’s good for him. After 45 years (but I was a child bride) he adores me like the goddess I am.
He worships me!
Have a great week!
Hey, Dr.E, didn’t you read the “Mary, Mother of Salvation” thread? All the answers are there. God and Mary collaborated (making her Co-Redemptrix), probably before the foundation of the world. Oh!! golly, gee, that’s why it isn’t in scripture - the planning meeting took place before scripture was written.
LOLOL. Hi, Suzy! How’s life? Sparkling, no doubt. 8~)
For all the blessedness, Mary did not understand who Jesus was or really believe what His purpose was as can be seen in her reaction at His adolescent temple experience (Luke 2:49-50) And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Fathers business? 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them and later when she and her sons thought Jesus was insane (Mark 3:21-35) And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself........ There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
However, God is spirit, (Jhn 4:24) God [is] a Spirit:. Thats why Jesus says (John 6:63) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. When one trusts Christ for salvation one does not become one flesh but as Paul states (1 Cor. 6:17) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
A sentiment is no foundation for an eternal truth.
AMEN. No wonder you're such a good teacher of the Gospel.
One God. One Redeemer. One Reconciler.
This is your conundrum, Dr.Eckleburg, not mine.
No conundrum on my part. I know that Mary is not a co-redeemer and thus she is not divine, but mortal in every way.
One God. One Redeemer. One Reconciler.
The truth of your post was recognized by those that have the ability to think spiritually...and appreciate how the answers to what at first may seem like a difficult question can be found in scripture.
Amen, Suzy.
