Earlier, he was. I am glad he is re-instated.
We all have our own individual opinions, and we are bound to differ. That’s life. It would be boring, if we all agreed. Am I right?
And every once in awhile, I even learn something from those with whom I disagree, believe it or not.

The RCC seems oblivious to the nearly incestuous shellac with which they tarnish the relationship between Christ and Mary. It is not only unScriptural and blasphemous, it's thoroughly unseemly. Incestuous?
Where did you get a sick idea like that?
What's wrong with you?

Life would not be boring without those who hate my religion and publish here all manner of calumny, slander and sneering insult.
In fact, without that garbage life would be immeasurably better.

I’m sorry, Pet. I don’t hate your religion. I don’t even know what your religion is.

It is more accurate to refer to Mary as the mother of Jesus Christ in his human incarnation.
To refer to Mary as the mother of God implies that she precedes God.
I doubt this error is lost on Rome, so we can only conclude Rome likes that error and wants to encourage it.
Mary before God.

Quix’ name is now operative, so he must have been suspended for a day.

I hope Quix wasn’t actually banned. I really think he has potential, despite what he wrote.
To: Dr. Eckleburg
I learned a long time ago - people disagree. You can NEVER get everybody to like you. Does it change who we are? No.
Will anyone attract flies with vinegar? No.
Can we attract those with whom we disagree by offers of honey? Yes.
That doesn’t mean we will win anyone over - but the parting will be much sweeter.

I have no idea what he wrote - but, IMHO, he has some very good ideas, and his background and knowledge offer ‘food for thought’ for many.

Well the gist is he ascribed this young man’s conversion experience to a psychological disorder in a way that was pretty insensitive. Besides that I agree with you about him, however.

Well the gist is he ascribed this young man's conversion experience to a psychological disorder in a way that was pretty insensitive. Besides that I agree with you about him, however. Maybe the rules have changed in the past few days, but prior to this we were permitted to criticize the subjects and topics of a posted thread, just not individual FReepers.
As heated as some of these discussions are, this has been a workable rule that I hope is still in effect.
When the time comes that we cannot openly criticize some newpaper story or TV report, we're all in big trouble.
I respect anyone's right on this forum to try to dismantle any idea I put forth. That's the "Republic" part of Free Republic.

Thanks for your kind words and ping.
I don’t understand what all went into my reinstatement any more than I understood about the why’s of the suspension originally. I greatly appreciate it and am humbled by it.
However, I am going to TRY and earnestly lay low from public posting the original slated 3 days and prayerfully ponder what The Lord might have me learn from all this.
If someone has a pressing issue to bounce off of me, I’ll likely be willing to reply by FREEPMAIL.
Blessings, to all who love Jesus and to all FREEPERS supporting FR and our beleagured REPUBLIC.

Unless addressed, I pretty much ignore various postings and posters that resemble less a coherent argument than Moe, Larry and Curley Howard smacking each other.
It’s ok for 10 seconds before the schtick gets ridiculous and the same blah repeated.
It’s just a waste of time to dwell on them.
I have an “ignore” function on my MS.

In particular we pray that they come to know the intimacy between Jesus and His Mother And this intimacy would appear where in Scripture? Because a careful reading of Scripture clearly tells us that Christ considers all believers as close to Him as His own mother and brothers. Indeed it adds a depth and richness to the story of salvation on which so many miss out. The "story" of salvation does not need any added depth or richness beyond what Christ accomplished on the cross -- alone. The RCC seems oblivious to the nearly incestuous shellac with which they tarnish the relationship between Christ and Mary. It is not only unScriptural and blasphemous, it's thoroughly unseemly. Amen.
For whoever shall do the will of God the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.(Mk.3:35)
Christ had all three.
