I went and read some of that link you posted, and it sounds about as erudite as some of our posters here. Amazing.
Breathtaking.
The section on St. Ignatius Loyola and mind control is breathtakingly stupid.
I think it may well be medically possible to hurt oneself laughing. It’s mighty thoughtful of “her” to warn us off.
Well, thanks for saving me the bother, I appreciate it.
Eeeek!
Glad I could help.
Interesting she/he/it/they chose to try and discredit, badly, the saint who was instrumental in leading the church through the schisms and not another.
Let’s see: Loyola’s brain, God-given, Holy Spirit led ability vs. La(Le, Les) Collins.
No contest.
“Mind Control. Booga Booga!”
I’m telling. You know the Jessies...
wow...
Getting. verklempt. Must. Ping. self.
Now, wait now. I thought all these protestants favored interpreting the scriptures for themselves....then we find they have people who interpret for them, and they pick and choose which particular person they think is right.
That’s my problem with protestants. They say one thing, and do another. They gainsay tradition, yet have their own. They declare the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist to be false, and make sure of it by creating their own pale imitation. They declare the supremacy of scripture, but use someone else’s translation, without ever knowing if it’s a good translation or not. They rely on someone else to tell them if it’s a good interpretation, but excoriate Catholics who do the same.
Protestantism seems hypocritical to me, frankly, so I cannot trust their individual, supposedly scripturally based definitions of Mary’s role. Which scripture? Who said so? Who interpreted that? What was that person’s training?
Heavenly Father, the Bible says that Mary was an ordinary woman who needed a savior just like the rest of us do. The Bible tells us not to try to communicate with dead people. I repent of praying to Mary, venerating Mary, and singing songs in her honor. I renounce every special title that the Catholic Church has given to Mary. I repent of anything I have said or done because of apparitions of Mary. I repent of any way in which I have consecrated myself to Mary. Please forgive me for believing Catholic doctrines that exalt Mary above other people. Please get these things out of my heart, out of my mind, and out of my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
One can be unconsciously self-contradictory without descending to hypocrisy, I think.
Certainly. And the vessel of Jesus' birth has nothing to do with Abraham's salvation, your salvation or my salvation.
Christ alone died on the cross at Calvary. Men demean His one-time perfect sacrifice by giving to others the praise that is due Christ alone.
It's possible. I'm not sure it's probable, here.
Considering the thread as a whole, I mean.
“I renounce every special title that the Catholic Church has given to Mary.”
I guess the Psalmists were wrong according to her.
