From you, that's rich.
Just the other day I pointed out how they take our belief "b" and reverse it to "not(b)," then castigate us for believing "not(b)" and rejecting the truth of "b."
It's all very diabolical.
“And we “partake” of His sacrifice every day, not in the blasphemy of the mass which sacrifices him daily...
In one sentence fragment you both make Christ a liar and misrepresent Catholic belief.”
My God. I’m off this thread. I don’t want to bring down anymore judgment on Dr. E. than she has already brought on herself.
"Do this in remembrance of Me." -- Luke 22:19
The alchemy of Rome is rebuked time and again in Scripture. Repeated sacrifices will not save anyone. Only the blood of Christ, shed once for all the sins of His flock, saves the fallen sinner.
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." -- Hebrews 10:9-18"Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Rome is mired in the trappings of the temporal world. Look heavenward, to the ONLY rock that is higher than ourselves.
Excellent point. Error upon error.
That's exactly what happens when Rome veers from the truth into fiction.
Your comments are always welcomed when they are fairminded and do not attribute to us wht we do not believe.
Thank you, Mrs. D!
Beautifully expressed and stated. :-)
Yes, agreed. I love Free Republic, but I absolutely despise reading threads about Catholics/Catholic subjects. No matter what is posted, the same characters come out and do the same things, over and over and over until I could scream.
I’m happy Quix got his hand slapped. I’m sick of being called a blasphemer by Dr. Eckleburg. The only reason it happens is so that they can proselytize to lurkers and preach to their own self-congratulating choir. Any discussion meaningful to Catholics is fair game for this religious name-calling unless we “caucus” the thread; when we don’t, they consider the thread “fair game.”
Any non-Catholic poster who would like to ask a question or make a positive comment has to have the stones to run the gauntlet of this persistent rude posting. Thus, nothing is accomplished for anyone except the disrupters, and you can almost see the glee they have, ruining a thread with their same old tired stuff.
It is a stain upon Free Republic, in my opinion.
I thought this thread would be different. How wrong I was.
Do you really think that we think that it was Mary that made Jesus the Son of God? Really?
Try not to make this personal. It's not about you or me. It's about the word of God opposed to all the errors men surround themselves with.
He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire: And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god. They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand. And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?" -- Isaiah 44:15-20"Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
As I said, your make Christ a liar and misrepresent Catholic belief.
You assemble beautiful strawmen and knock them down. Go right ahead, everyone needs a hobby.
Here's a handkerchief. Go dry off the tears. When you're finished hand it to a group of your Catholic friends who didn't exactly earn a degree while attending finishing school on a pirate ship.
There you go again dragging Calvinism into this.
It's not that hard to tell the Protestants who care about the subject from the ones who care about the pain they can cause.
In related news my projects for this Eastertide are praying for the grace to forgive and praying for the grace to rejoice in my sufferings.
Oh, thank you for your thoughtful and courteous response. /extreme dripping sarcasm
You're suffering? where? In an internet chatroom? lol.
NYer: "The Blessed Virgin Mother of God, as the preeminant saint and member of the Church, by her loving obedience and cooperation in the Incarnation, by her sufferings at the cross, and by her present prayer and intercession in heaven, has indeed brought salvation to the body of Christ, and redemption to the whole world. This way she really is the Co-Redemptrix of humanity and Mediatrix of all graces."
And those words are error and blasphemy, according to the word of God.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." -- Matthew 12:36-37"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
grow a couple
No. Do a little research on the council of Ephesus. There were a good number of Christians at that time that didn't believe in the divine nature of Christ or that Jesus and God are one. This title put that into perspective in order to make sure that it was known that Jesus and God are both, as Jesus said it ... "I AM."
That's not quite the only thing they accomplish. Some of us only check these threads to see which of the Catholic-haters most needs prayer.
