Keep sowing to corruption and you will reap corruption. On the other hand, what is the work of God that God seeks form you?
First of all, Mormon theology recognizes that Elijah never died. They also believe the apostle John also has never died. They also believe a few Nephite disciples never died. Now tell me again with all these supposed enduring disciples around with plenty of authority why God had to rely upon a 14 yr old kid?

Moses never died and Elijah was taken up into Heaven, as is recorded in the Old Testament. Yet, successors were selected and carried on. With Moses, it was Joshua. It is clear in the New Testament that John was granted his request to remain on earth until the Lord’s second coming. And yes, within LDS theology, there are 3 Nephites who were given the same request as John. Does this mean that the Gospel in its fullness remained on the earth? No, the fullness of the Gospel was taken. And when that happened, they were withdrawn from leading Christ’s church.
The restoration you are asking about was done through God’s messengers. This began with Moroni teaching Joseph Smith about the Gold Plates. There was more than one visit by the way. When it came to be given authority to act in the name of God, which authority is in Christ, first John the Baptist visited Joseph and one of his adherents. John the Baptist restored the priesthood held by Aaron, which allowed baptisms to be performed. Next, Peter, James, and John visited Joseph and the same adherent and restored the priesthood that Christ gave Peter, James and John. Other visitations occurred.
Thus, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints claims direct authority from Christ to serve Him and organize the Church in His name. It is this reason that it comes down between the Catholics or the Mormons: All Protestant faiths derive from the Catholic Church while the LDS Church asserts it is the restored Church of Christ that existed during the time of the apostles.
The LDS worship God and no other. Thus, your wondering about a god before god, ad infinitum, is irrelevant. I will admit there is speculation, but as far as LDS doctrine, there is but one god, no gods before gods.
“when was “Christian Understanding” Christian Theology or the Nature of Christianity codified...how was this determined?”
It doesn’t need to, we can read.

Republican Platform of 1856
Original Republicans never trusted Mormons.
“Resolved: That the Constitution confers upon Congress sovereign powers over the Territories of the United States for their government; and that in the exercise of this power, it is both the right and the imperative duty of Congress to prohibit in the Territories those twin relics of barbarism Polygamy, and Slavery.”
you need to understand too...but some people don’t care
Secondly, I know I’m not off-base here: LDS don’t believe their “historical leaders” merely reside in history, but instead are alive & well & still Polygamously operative in colonies like Kolob & whatever celestial kingdoms exist out there.
I mean, you don’t see the LDS church condemning Joseph Smith and Brigham Young & the rest on yonder stars & planets, do you? No. The LDS church is selectively condemnatory. (I mean LDS state officials in Utah don’t even crack down on polygamy near its state borders)

The LDS doctrine on the after life is that there is a Spirit World, where all go to await the resurrection. Where it is located in the universe, only God knows. God is in Heaven, which comprises the Celestial, Terrestial, and Telestial kingdoms; the Celestial being the highest and where God resides.
Of course the LDS church won’t condemn Joseph Smith or Brigham Young for practicing polygamy. They were commanded to do so. Condemning them would require that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob be condemned as well. The practice of polygamy was banned in 1890 and is not tolerated within the LDS church, even where polygamy is legal.
I concur. Well said.
I noticed that many ANTI LDS have been missing on FR latlely and started showing up after the investigation of who is making those Anti Mormon calls!
I also recall a few years ago during April Gen Conf. those who went door to door of the LDS home leaving anti LDS video’s for the LDS to come home too I wonder if it is the part of the same group LHM?

Now is the time to excersize each one’s Faith that good over come!:)
“you need to understand too...but some people dont care”
Unless the bible was translated into English wrong, I am not interested in other people’s opinions about doctrine, trinity, and all that nonsense. I can read it myself. And that goes for Paul (Saul) also.
Not technically true.
They usually carry the KJV when evangelizing, but if you get into details, they will invariably declare the portion that you quote to be incorrect.
How do the different sects (denominations?) of Christians recognize other Christians

You pray to Heavenly Father and ask Him in the Name of Jesus Christ!
“The LDS worship God and no other. Thus, your wondering about a god before god, ad infinitum, is irrelevant...”
So you deny the belief that you will become a god after your earthly death?
You ask if they believe that there is one God and He is an everlasting God and that He sent His only son Jesus to earth to die for our sins and by His grace alone you are saved if you ask Him to be your Savior and forgive your sins.
I hope you enjoy your milk!

Christians read from the same bible. How you interpret, or not interpret, or how your priest-boss interprets it, is a different matter.
If you would like links to the Smith 'translation' of the king james Bible, or a computer copy to peruse, let me know. I can also post the additions he made to Genesis 50 in order to fabricate a retroactive prophecy of his 'coming in these latter days' if you're interested in such deceit by Mormonism.
I enjoy every day that is a gift from my Lord.
I’m quite familar with mormon quirks; I was once married to a mormon. (she’s no longer a mormon either)
