Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Christians?

I assume so. Why would you think otherwise?

Sorry

You are right.

I just have an aversion to allegory.

It's use in other places lead to so much error.

Yes the Bible says so but since LDS does not only believe in the Bible I want to hear a practicing LDS member say those words, “grace alone”. The Bible might say it but they don;t believe it and they use this same answer, “it say right here...” to avoid committing to what they believe or disbelieve.

Thanks for confirming you did not do your own homework and you have no idea of what you are talking about just what you heard.

What do they believe? I would actually imagine that they are. I would probably even call you a Christian of a sort.

From the way you have jumped all over me, how can you possibly say that repentence is necessary??? Isn’t that a work?

Caution to all of you:

Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Christians?

Start Here

You also believe the Trinity is a demonic doctrine and that Christendom is an apostate group preaching a false gospel. Additionally, you are taught the Watchtower organization is the true channel of God’s revelation to His church on earth. You are taught that you are in "The Truth."

-SNIP-

Please consider these quotes from the Watchtower Magazine that verify what I am saying: "All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the "greatly diversified wisdom of God" can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave." (The Watchtower; 10/1/1994; p. 8.)

"Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible." The Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967. p. 587.

-SNIP-

What are the apostate doctrines: Trinity? Hell? Jesus is God? Funny thing is that, according to the Watchtower, if you study the Bible by itself, you will come to believe these things! Could it be that apart from the selected questions, answers, scripture quotes, and direction of the Watchtower teaching, that the Bible actually does teach these "apostate doctrines"? If you don't check for yourself, and only believe the Watchtower, you'll never know.

Do you want to trust your eternal soul to the teachings of several men headquartered in Brooklyn, New York who claim to be the directors of God's organization on earth? Do you? Eternity is a long time to be wrong.

Quite interesting.

Read the book of James again and then spout that stuff.

??? The Bible says saved by “grace alone” and “no works”. Christians read that and say they believe it and are willing to voice that belief out loud as a profession of faith. Mormons will not say that is what they believe but instead say the Bible says... in order to avoid committing to a tangible belief. They will not say I believe “...”. Classic misdirection.

So how am I wrong?

Quote me in James where it says you are not saved by grace alone and must do works in conjunction with grace.

So how am I wrong?

We do believe in the Bible as well as all the word of God given to his prophet.

I don't expect you to understand or agree but in this nation we are to have religous freedom.

Personally I would never think of demeaning another traditional faith no matter how strange it might seem to me.

What I would do if I really wanted to know I would ponder and pray to the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ to understand these things if they are of God.

I am not trying to prevent your religious practice what you do or whom you worship is your business nor am I demeaning it. I want it properly defined. Do not try and label yourself in a group you are not, by definition of that group.

I share similar beliefs with Girl Scouts but I cannot call myself one by definition.

I am not trying to label myself in any group!

I received a witness by the power of the Holy Ghost into the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which existed in the 1st century.
