Youve really got to tell me why you think Orthodoxy rejects the teaching that Christ died on the Cross, suffered the penalty of sin which is death, in a very bloody manner, on account of our sins?I already have, and you act as if they do not exist.
To: Missey_Lucy_Goosey; Kolokotronis
Of course you have, you reject every bit of Scripture that teaches the Blood Atonement of Christ to pay the penalty of death owed by the Elect for sin Christ gave Himself as ransom for our freedom. It was His will to do so. In doing so He destroyed death because death had no power over Him. This has been the doctrine of atonement from the beginning. Then came Anslem...and then, oh Lord, the Portestants.

Oh and while youre at it, do you really believe that Eve and Satan had sex which resulted in Cain? Thats one I admit I had never heard before. So now you are bearing false witness.
What great lengths pompous pride will go to in order to protect it's own false doctrines.
To: Kolokotronis
By the way, God hates those who bear false witness.

“There is no evidence of any mass Exodus from Egypt, or that Hebrews ever lived in Egypt.”
And actually quite a bit of “evidence” that Moses was in fact an Egyptian prince, a monotheist and no more a Jew than I am.

And for good reason. No, the Church would have no good answer that's why. It is rather irrelevant, anyway, to us. It was much more important in the Jewish-Christian cultural environment as part of the Jewish folklore and mythology. It served well to show that Chrhist rescued us the way the Hebrews were rescued accoridng to the story of Exodus (which by the way mimicks almost verbatim an older Babylonian myth).

And actually quite a bit of evidence that Moses was in fact an Egyptian prince, a monotheist and no more a Jew than I am Correct. Monotheism was established as part of the ancient Egyptian belief. The Semitic word Adonai reflects the name of the Egyptian pharaoh who established monotheism in Egypt.
Moses is an expressly ancient Egyptian name. If he had been rescued as an infant and raised as an Egyptian, he would not have known he was a Hebrew.
The story of his birth, including the basket and how it was sealed with tar when it was sent down the river is almost verbatim spelled out in Babylonian mythology, just as the story of the big flood, and many other OT stories.

I’ll have to admit, I’ve never heard this one, either. Where did this falsehood come from? Gen. 4:1 clearly states that Adam and Eve had Cain.

Don’t worry about it! We Greeks are very, very bad people. God knows that; that’s why He had the NT written in Greek, to give us every advantage. He’s been cutting us and the Jews slack for millennia, so He understands your frustration.

I will pray that you ... no, that wouldn’t be loving, either.
Ok, I’ll pray for you.

And how do you know I am not an Irish/Greek? :>)
We are all very bad people, that is why we need Christ.
I thought he wrote the NT in Greek because Southern hadn’t been invented yet :>)

St. Irenaeus battled against similar heretics.
There is a rather large movement of shepherds chapel /arnold murray followers that has been pushing this heretical view.
