Well .. I'm sorry but your "scriptures" don't prove anything. Nowhere does it say - IN THE FLESH - so just because you will see Jesus appear in the clouds does not in any way mean he's in the flesh. Because he's not - he's a spirit being.

Actually, you are too .. since you were created in the image and likeness of God. You are a spirit (that's how you can live forever). You have a soul - your mind, your will and your emotions. And .. you live in a body - or earth suit.

No .. it's your opinion.

It's the direct statement of the Lord. "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." (Luke 24:39)

Well .. anything that may be impossible for Jesus to do would require that the Bible says otherwise. Because God will not violate his own word - whether or not anybody thinks it's impossible.

God won't violate His word, true...but he may very well violate your limited understanding of His word, or my own little error-filled perspective.

I doubt it would bother Him much at all, in fact.

So...will God do what He said He wouldn't do? No. Will God do what YOU think He said He wouldn't do? Quite possibly.

And before you start citing chapter and verse defending your point of view, well, don't. It's beside the point.

Whats Jesus have to do to prove he is not a spirit? Eat a fish? Cook breakfast for the apostles? Roll away a stone? Let them put their hands in his wounds?

No wait, he did all those things and more...

Back to the topic at hand!

They aren't "my" scriptures, they belong to God. When Jesus was resurected, he ate food. Do spirit beings eat food?

Luk 24:41 While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" Luk 24:42 They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish; Luk 24:43 and He took it and ate it before them.

Actually, you are too .. since you were created in the image and likeness of God. You are a spirit (that's how you can live forever). You have a soul - your mind, your will and your emotions. And .. you live in a body - or earth suit.

I'm not a "spirit", I am a person. I can't live forever, but, by the Grace of God, I will be resurrected at Jesus' second coming and enter eternal life.

Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

Also see Ezekiel 37 - too much to paste.

Then we need to explain this and this .

We also need to read this.

Some claim Satan is not real.

Satan's greatest triumph was convincing mankind that he doesn't exist.

I don't need to "read" or "explain" anything!

If you don't agree with what I said - oh well. You don't have to agree. I don't give a rip whether you do or not. Jesus said, "If they don't receive you, brush the dust off your feet and go on."

"Don't be fooled .. this person is not Jesus the Christ (Anointed One).

I am a born-again Christian baptized in the Holy Ghost .. and I KNOW this person is not Jesus Christ."

Thank you Captain Obvious!!

Sorry, I know you're serious but I just couldn't stop myself.

If you don't agree with what I said - oh well. You don't have to agree.

It doesn't mean a thing if I disagree with you....but when scripture clearly tells us that all souls sin....and they will all die....and that our Saviour is the only one who has immortality, then you probably had better think about "giving a rip"!

I will consider your feet brushed.

You're comparing Old Testament scripture with New Testament scripture. Please remember that in the Old Testament, nobody was born again. However, in the New Testament, Paul told us that as "believers" we have a new and better covenant. What was the "better covenent" - it was eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Jesus paid the price for our sins by being crucified on the cross - and all those who receive him as Saviour receive remission of their sins.

Under the OLD covenant, God was the only one who had immortality (as far as the writers of the Old Testament knew), but the Bible clearly tells us that when Jesus was crucified and went down into the bowels of hell, there was a group of people being held in Paradise [righteousness was accounted unto them because of their faith] - awaiting their release to go on into heaven (through a Saviour) - and there was only ONE WAY THEY COULD GET THERE - through the blood of Jesus. After God sent all of His power down into hell and Jesus was born again ("the first born from among the dead") - it was Jesus who escorted the Old Testament saints into their final reward - Heaven. Just think, Joseph got to see Jesus fulfill the covenant Joseph had always believed in.

Of course, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God, [BUT YOU LEFT OFF THE BEST PART] - Jesus finished the sentence with, "But I have come that you might have LIFE and that abundantly". So, even while we were yet in our sins, God had provided a lamb to sacrifice to remove our sins ONCE FOR ALL.

"There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death." The right way is Jesus.

I don't take any of this lightly, and I don't say things lightly. God is a spirit - therefore, man must be a spirit - because man was created in the image and likeness of God. There is a spirit realm. You can't see it - but that is not evidence it doesn't exist. Too many people have reported they were in heaven - where they could see, talk, think, reason, believe, sing, etc. Therefore, your soul - your mind, your will and your emotions must go with you. That leaves only your flesh - and as I saw recently when my mom passed away - the body dies - but the spirit [that essence that keeps the body alive] has escaped its hold and has assended up into heaven to be with God and Jesus. It was truly amazing to watch.

I'm sorry if I offended you by what I said, but I don't ever demand that anyone believe the way I do. I will just point out the truth - and it's up to you to search it out for yourself!

You posted that on a "right wing, conservative, Christian friendly website" how many potential converts do you think you will reach here? My point is reinforced by your argument. It's like holding an altar call after choir practice.

I'm not here to convert anybody. But .. when people ask questions - and I believe I have the answers - I'm more than willing to stick my neck out and put them to paper.

And no .. this place is NOT anywhere near the choir. While a lot of Christians (85%) inhabit this website - most of them are probably Catholic - and we have a lot of differences in our beliefs.

I have had some really good discussions, and I've had some attacks (here on FR), where 3-4 people would gang up on me and continually ask me the same questions over and over - until I finally got wise to their game and I don't play anymore.

What you're presenting is a fundamentally Gnostic version of Christianity, where we excape our bodies and spend eternity as naked spirits. But Paul says we don't want to be unclothed but further clothed.
