Sorry, it was your quote from Dr. E. to which I was responding.
So you are denying the power of the Holy Spirit? which the bible clearly teaches is given to all believers. It just gets worse and worse, and still you refuse to tell me if Eckleburg has come preaching a Jesus different from the One that Paul preached.
you too
It's easy to get splattered by those broad brush strokes. 8~)
And that's totally irrelevant to the topic. You are truly unable to keep one thought straight. You said in 1252 that I said that no one on this list called anyone a heretic.
That is patently false, absolutely false. What I said was in response to Zeeba's selfpitying lament that we call people who merely study the Bible diligently heretics. I said that we label as heretics those who draw heretical conclusions from their study of the Bible.
And now you try to use Boehemund's summary in 1244 of the definition he posted in 1238 to play gotcha with me.
Those who do not accept Catholic dogma do so because they draw other conclusions from Scripture interpretation, not merely because they study diligently. So Bohemund's statement does not prove me wrong as you proclaim in your loudest gotcha gal voice.
Moreover, you misrepresent Bohemund. In 1244 Bohemund said that anyone who does not accept Catholic dogma is a heretic. But if you had troubled yourself to read the definition he posted in 1238 you would see that his second post left out a key element of what makes someone a heretic: To be a heretic one has to persist in dissent from Catholic dogma after first knowing it to be true and then rejecting it, after being instructed and warned. You're so eager to "gotcha" that you missed that part of the definition.
I went to considerable length in my posting to Zeeba to point out that I do not consider people like you heretics. You are too uninformed, too incapable of reading coherently, to flighty to keep your mind on a train of thought longer than three seconds to be a heretic. I said Luther and Calvin were heretics because they knew better.
You don't know any better. But not because you haven't had opportunity to know better. Unless you are just putting on a big show of being incoherent, it would appear that you simply are incapable of following a line of reasoning. Hence you are incapable of being a heretic. Only you know for sure.
And please retract your multiple false statements about what I wrote about the use of the term heretic by Catholics and Orthodox on this thread. You get a pass on being a heretic because of your ignorance but falsifying what I wrote is very uncivil, you who like to lecture people on FR etiquette.
But there is only one sin which will not be forgiven.
I posted your own comments.
I guess that means you owe yourself an apology.
(How old are you guys?)
Take heart, Doc, you're just too stupid to be a heretic!
Now those Texas longhorns, they want to believe in The Golden Calf. Are they too stupid to be heretics too?
To be a heretic one has to be able to think and understand the doctrine he refuses to believe. One thing is clear about you and Dr. E--you don't understand much at all about Catholic teachings. And you understand even less about drawing intelligent conclusions from your diligent Bible study. That you do diligent Bible study I grant you, and, as I wrote earlier, I applaud you for. I do not applaud you for the conclusions you draw but neither do I call you a heretic. You don't know enough to be a heretic.
You did not post my comments. You misstated them and you can't tell the difference.
yes, I put All as I'm so stupid I can't read or spell much over 5 letters
So HIM you apologize to?!?
curses

I've been laughing so hard, my head hurts
Yep, I'm positively daffy with the joy of the Lord.
Just today I bought a pocket KJV for my son. At his request.
I must raise 'em stupid, too.
In # 1176 Zeeba wrote:
"While you're at it, quote the bible verses that say those who are diligent to study the Word and who rely on Christ alone for their salvation, are heretics."
In other words, Zeeba made a false accusation to start the whole thing, accusing us of calling him and others heretics merely because they study the Bible diligently.
To this I replied in #1183
"When you show me where any defender of free will on this thread called those who study the Word diligently and rely on Christ heretics, I'll quote you their verses. But none of us ever said that and for you to imply that we claim that is insulting and dishonest."
I restricted my claim to those who have defended free will and I asserted that, although some have called their opponents heretics, none of them based the label on their the mere fact that their opponents studied the Bible diligently. Rather, I wrote that any accusations of heresy made on this thread by defenders of free will were made with reference to the conclusions from study of Scripture that led the "heretics" to deny free will.
You never quoted my own words. You misstated them repeatedly. You people are amazing. You live so much within your own heads that you think that whatever you say we said is what we said. You lack elementary ability to read words and repeat them accurately. And then you proudly announce I've been "proven" wrong.
As God wills. 8~)
Absolutely amazing.
