Be careful. What was it C.S. Lewis said? The man who is proud of his humility is proud indeed, or something like that.
The Archibishop preaches a mixed message, suggesting that all (including practicing homosexuals) are sick and in need of a divine physician, but then preaching that homosexual relationships should be accepted, blessed, and even celebrated. In short, he's denying that sexual perversion and promiscuity are sinful.
And that's where he falls off the mark. Neither homosexuality nor heterosexual adultery are morally adequate or acceptable behaviors. He does homosexuals no favors telling them they need not resist or repudiate homosexual behavior.
It's not false humility, it's a simple statement of truth about me. I know that I need to be careful on that particular score, because it has gotten me into trouble in the past.
but then preaching that homosexual relationships should be accepted, blessed, and even celebrated. In short, he's denying that sexual perversion and promiscuity are sinful.
Where does he say that in this sermon?
