Discussing Marianism is never boring!

You bait and pounce.

How so? Bait implies that I hide my feelings about Marianism which I certainly don't.

Everyone here who is Catholic isn't going to be influenced by your feelings about Mary.

I think you are wasting your time.

I see that attitude in the bible all the time....not.

If they devoted their order to building windmills, you'd love them.

Yawn.

All I'm waiting for is someone who actually wants to discuss opinions about doctrine on a site for discussing opinions. If that seems like a bad thing, why are you here?

This thread is about an order of nuns who have modeled their lives after the Mother of God. You do believe Jesus is the Son of God, don't you?

As the obedient, infinitely holy Son of God, the Lord Jesus was a very firm believer in the commandment to honor one's father and mother. Now, what most people don't know about that commandment is that in Hebrew it literally reads, "Glorify your father and mother." This means that, since Christ took God's commandments very seriously, he would glorify his mother Mary, and for us to talk about his mother in a cavalier, irreverent manner is to impugn the glory which Christ himself has given her. As a result, if we were to talk about Mary in an impious manner then we would be offending not only Mary but also Christ by denying his mother the glory that he himself gave her.

You would, I am sure, be offended if anyone spoke about your mother in a deliterious manner. Mary is the mother of God.

First let me point out that this thread is dead to anyone who may accuse me of hijacking it.

There is all the difference in the world between talking trash about Mary and inventing false and glorifying doctrine about her. The RCC has done the latter. Mary is only the mother of Jesus in a limited sense and she is not the Mother of God in any sense. Jesus' favorite name for Himself was not "The son of Mary" as RC's might have one believe, but "The Son of Man". Even in His very favorite name for Himself, he detaches himself from Mary. Wow I'm adding that to my profile page.

Ah, the Nestorian heresy rears its ugly head. There is nothing new under the sun.

I suppose the believers of this heresy would also condemn St. Elizabeth,

"And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" Luke 1:43
