Hey--Milwaukee's new Archbishop brought over a Louvain guy to head up vocations-director at the Seminary here.

****

Dolan did that?

Oh, no.

I'll pray for you.

Hopefully that won't turn out to be as bad as it sounds.

My take is that he is looking for a servent who will fetch him a glass of tea and run his various errands.

Thanks for the clarification. Based upon the comment above, "close relationship with the late Cardinal Bernardin" and other recent events, I thought perhaps he had something else in mind for the priest's duties. Glad to see I was drawing the wrong conclusion.

Yup.

Apparently they were acquainted because Dolan ran the North American College for years.

BTW, if you look at the Board Membership of the Louvain, there are a bunch of termites there. It's also possible that Dolan "rescued" this guy from Louvain--i.e., the priest in question couldn't stand for the silliness undoubtedly espoused by some members of the Board.

I was thinking the same thing as you were.

My pastor's of the opinion that George is now the kingmaker. Either way, we're better off.

Can you think of an occasion in the last 50 years in which a bishop of a Southern diocese was promoted to a "red hat see"?

Yes.
