thank you for posting that. it is indeed very sad how many misled people think "The DaVinci Code" is true. It just feeds the fires of anti-Catholicism.

The same Virginia one that John McCain graduated? Ha ha ha... NO. The Bishop's School, La Jolla, CA. Only a couple miles from the Mt. Soledad Cross that those aclu jack@sses want to tear down. If I still lived there, I would tie myself to it and dare them to bulldoze me... sorry for going off topic here.
For the record, I'm not a McCain fan either. ;-)

Maybe we should have an inquisition regarding those who believe in the "facts" presented in a fictional novel!!
Them catholics are real good at inquisitions!

Sorry, I haven't read either the book, or your reply (too long)...does the author present his book as fact, or fiction?

However - a little P.S. here, the Bible does say:
Romans 3:3, 4 "What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge."
and
Romans 2:15 "the requirements of the Law are written on their hearts [everyone's hearts], their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them."
Have you read CS Lewis's Mere Christianity? That is a transcription of radio talks on the subject of how he came to believe that it was the Truth.
You may find it interesting. It's not a hard read but he has that pleasant somewhat rambling British style that you may have to get used to.

Then it would appear that the truth is individual, not universal.

What kind of an answer is that? In other words, you don't know how... You're right, I don't know how to convince you.

Them catholics are real good at inquisitions! That was kinda lame...
And I ain't even Catholic.
(remember the Inquisitions didn't start until AFTER Islam tried to take over Europe and impose their own religion on it).

Well, it's a start, if you're really serious and not just trying to poke holes in other people's faith.

I believe it requires faith, which is different in each individual...as God obviously would have it.

D'ya suppose that they fixed the problem after 500+ years and lots of dead folks?

Hello--- IT'S FICTION! The religious equivalent of Whitley Streiber.
The author states at the beginning of the book that it is historically accurate and while fiction, the historical information is true. He's full of crap, of course. He couldn't even get the date right for the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. His claim that it's historically accurate is what has people upset. I've met a few who take him at his word and believe it, so I can't blame people for wanting to point out the errors.
