Why not just open a brothel? Give them a safe place to work under the auspices of the church, without being judgmental? ;)

Knowing the ECUSA hierarchy, this might already be in the works. Have to make the shortfall in pledges somehow, you know. :-(

It's not exactly an original idea, you know:

a lesbian Episcopal priest??? Sighhhhhhh. This priest needs a change by the Spirit of the Lord. Until she is born again, she can't help others. She doesn't understand change until she has experienced herself.

To me, she is like a fox in the henhouse. She will be tempted to draw the other women into her sin.

I used to think about joining the Episcopal church for its history but now...:/

Two points. 1) It doesn't say "practicing", but 2) as an "identity" issue I'm troubled (unless it were given in the sese of "resisting the urge", which it is not here).

We can bet our Episcopal prayer beads & directions for walking the labyrinth that any homosexual worth their salt in Louie Crew's book (the Godfather of ECUSA's pansexual agenda) is not only "practicing," they've probably reached the level of "expert" in their...um..."lifestyle."

the Anglican faith has a role for women called Deacon. The role fits exactly into what you espouse - but the women is not a priest, thus she is not the rector of a parish. pastoral counsel is not the same as leading the flock of wayward sheep. women are very good at reltaionships - read "You Just Don't Understand or Working 9 to 5 to see more detail; yet they are less liely to throw out a player in the game because they broke the rules. This keeps them from pushing the fallen to take action or be kicked out.

That is my take on the issue. - Because a women priest who manages a homeless shelter shared much of the same ideas with me, I know that mine are not about sexism but about SEEING historical and cultural patterns.

Sadly, you're probably right.

"I know that mine are not about sexism but about SEEING historical and cultural patterns."

...and it is a "cultural pattern" of death - in this world as well as the next. Such people REALLY need to read Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus to know how God directs us to minister to one another. It is NOT a "feel good" policy. We are to rebuke sinful behavior - will compassion, gentleness & love - but, rebuke it nontheless. And, true Christians are to model good behavior so that no one can point to a woman (like this lesbian "do gooder") and say, "Well, so much for your God and your religion of hypocrisy!"
