in all seriousness - is he at least clever enough to try using a different IP ?
"Once there was an endangered Pelagian Pelican on a Gulagian Archipelago."
I'm thinking of that as the opening line of a new adventure novel....whaddayathink?
Corin, the popcorn happened over here.
Dang. And I was just about to give him the ol' "So what are your thoughts on Charles Finney?" test.
Well, he is now...thanks a lot!
From your profile page:
I believe in one God, but I do not adhere to any organized religious belief -- Depending on where I am, I occasionally go to Mass, Mosques, and Temples because I find the atmospheres pleasant and conducive to thinking -- I do not believe there is a hell, and I hope there is an afterlife
All this talk about....mosques, and no hell and hope for maybe an afterlife....doesn't sound very Christian to me.
Why should it? I don't claim to be.
Seeing as how yet another self-professed Calvinist is suspended or banned from these boards (that makes three in the last five days), I'd be glad to verify that for Marlowe. His tag line, or at least how it read for fourteen hours during the evening of 6/7 into the afternoon of 6/8, was changed from Free the GRPL 3 to Ban the GRPL 58. The new tagline persisted, mostly in empty "period" responses to Calvinists and GRPL ping list members, from a little after nine on 6/7 until 1pm of the next day. Most, but not all of the occurences can be viewed between posts 1103 and 1188 of this thread.
Marlowe explained his tagline's change in this way...
"My tag line represents my honest belief that the GRPL was the worst thing to have ever happened to this forum. Not because I don't value these discussions, but because the GRPL has divided the forum and has contributed mightily to the near complete loss of cordial and scholaraly protestant discussion. If you can't see that, then you are truly blind..." - P-Marlowe, 06/08/2004, at 08:06:32 AM PDT |
BTW as you are well aware, dragging disputes from one thread to another is against Free Republic rules.
Can someone tell me what GRPL stands for? I have thought up my own possible meanings.... but I bet they aren't right. :~D
???
???
Follow the links.
***My opinion in that regard has not changed. I continue to believe that the GRPL is a disruptive influence on the Religion threads. Your post proves my point.***
You know Marlowe , you can kill the messenger , but the message is still alive.
I wonder if an inability to form a doctrinal defense is the reason for all the "reports" and the desire to ban the messenger.
I suspect lurkers can decide this for themselves.
Reform Doctrine has always stood in spite of the desire to stamp it out .
Truth is like that you know ?
Feel free to mock the Calvinists...it is open season.
After the reformation hundreds were put to death (that was of course before they were officially cursed to hell) .Even death did not kill the truth .
GRPL = Great reform Ping List
Now can you define neener?
Forgive me.... I didn't make your rear tender, in fact, some of my good friends are GRPL's, and I rarely mock them. It is just an acronym that is in very common usage around here that I couldn't find it defined anywhere. It was high time I asked.
What messenger have I killed? I have no power to ban anyone from this forum. People generally tend to get themselves banned. Don't ever forget that you were the one who alerted the mods to milquetoast but it was the mods who banned him.

Wonder all you want. I have no desire to ban the messenger. It would be nice if their message were not dripping with malice, but too often it is. We'll let the lurkeres decide whose posts are more malicious.

So has Islam. That doesn't make it true.
Why?
Why not?
You must have had a reason for putting those links up, that is what I am asking.
Just remember , if it was not for Luther, Calvin, Knox , Tindale etc, you would still be going to mass every sunday
