Sorry to spoil the party but after listening to those two constantly bash Catholics and Catholicism one is bound to respond.

They have criticized your church, yes, but they have not "bashed Catholics". If you wish to criticize or attack their beliefs, you have every right to do so. But dragging someone's kids into it is way over the line.

Within months the impact had faded away.

The dramatic impact had faded away. The masses who crowded into services in the days and weeks after 9/11 dwindled. But surely not every one of them fell away.

We already know what the impact will be. I said this before. Some falls on rocky ground, some gets choked by weeds, some gets plucked out by birds. But some grows and flourishes.

Why is telling the truth bashing?

I've had Catholics come by and claim I'm bashing Catholics. In reality it is not bashing anyone. The problem is that the truth hurts and the person has no room in their heart for sound Biblical doctrine. The Catholic church is a false religion that preaches a works based form of salvation that actually denies the finished work done on the cross by the Lord Jesus. During life, the poor deceived Catholic goes through the sacraments in order to merit salvation from God. After death, they are taught that they must spend an undetermined time in purgatory to finish paying for their own sins before being admitted to heaven. Of course while living, doing certain things (called indulgences) can reduce time spent in purgatory. Also, masses can be purchased and spoken by a priest for the dead person to help reduce time in purgatory.

All this is a lie from hell and it totally contradicts the plan of salvation in the Bible. You see the Lord Jesus paid the full price on the cross with His shed blood. There is no need for purgatory. We cannot in any way atone for our own sins. We are hopelessly lost and need a Saviour. What the Lord Jesus did on the cross was to provide complete and eternal salvation for all who would receive it. It cannot be earned or merited in any way. Salvation is a gift from God. Works cannot ever save a person from hell. A person is lost and cannot save himself or make his own pathway to heaven. There is no such thing as spending time in purgatory to purge ones own sins. In fact purgatory does not even exist. It is nothing more than a fairy tale by some religious lost men in costumes! They teach these heresies to other lost people in their church. Both priest and Catholic follower are lost and on their way to hell! Both need to accept the Lord Jesus and realize He paid it all on the cross. The good news is these days many Catholics are reading their Bibles and coming to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. From the point of salvation, the saved Catholics leave their dead and false church. They come out of their false works based religion and are truly free in the Lord Jesus!


Telling people the truth is in no way bashing anything. Instead, the people with the problem are the ones with the truth rejecting hearts that consider anything that contradicts their false belief system as bashing or hateful. The bottom line is they love their sin and evil and react in anger when confronted. These people do not belong to God but rather have aligned themselves with the devil and his works.

Here is what the Bible says:

2 Tim 4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

The person is doctrinally reprobate who rejects truth by calling it hateful or bashing. They do not have a heart for sound Biblical doctrine. This person can be told the truth again and again and they cannot and will not receive it into their heart. They are children of disobedience who are walking on the broad road to hell.

This person is also usually a relativist who believes that all paths lead to God. This type of person gets angry when he perceives someone who does not have the same spirit of tolerance to error and false doctrine. The major call of these last days of apostasy is for tolerance and acceptance of heresy. People who reject sound Biblical doctrine pride themselves on how "tolerant" they are. Hell will be filled with people who accepted all kinds of heresies and lies from the devil in the spirit of "tolerance".

This person is not saved and has no desire to walk in obedience or to please God in his life. To obey God is to reject false soul damning heresies. By blindly claiming something is bashing, that person is showing his cold and Christ rejecting heart for all to see. That lost person is blind and on the way to hell, yet he still sticks out his crooked fingers and screams "bashing" when his false beliefs are challenged.

This person does not love God. If he did then there would be a desire to obey and please God. True love rejects false soul damning heresies. This person may love religion but he does not love God nor does he desire to be obedient to God or His Word, the Bible.

They're doing well. Grace is pretty much back to her normal self. Hannah is still struggling with a cough, but hopefully it'll get better. She just finished a round of Zithromax for a slight ear infection, so if she had strep, that should take care of it.

Why is telling the truth bashing?

Because others don't share your idea of what "truth" is. And when you spend an inordinate amount of time focused on displaying your own peculiar "understanding" of the beliefs of others, it comes across as a disinterest in what the other actually believes.

Excessive use of exclamation! points! and mockery is not helpful either.

Look, I know a spade is a spade and I'm nto thin skinned or anything.

I suppose I should take it as a compliment that I get reminders to not speak in unversal terms and to make sure I express things as "beliefs" and not hard and fast truths, while others are allowed more leeway.

If you don't hesitate to express your beliefs -- even those which are potentially divisive -- why should anyone else?

I've been told that I'm "apostate", a "heretic", "spiritually blind", "going to hell", etc. If I don't accept the other person's beliefs, why should this bother me? They may be telling me "The Truth", but if I disagree, why should I give it any more weight than any other expression of opinion? I may disagree with them, even vehemently, about doctrine and interpretation. But I'm not threatened by others having different beliefs and expressing them.

It is provocative, perhaps even inflammatory, but is it a "personal attack" on you? I've seen worse posted about the Pharisees, and it doesn't get pulled.

The Catholic church doesn't teach universalism, either. You just differ on what separates the sheep from the goats.
