In the past, Limbaugh has decried drug use and abuse on his bluntly conservative show... ARGGHHHHH!!!
DOCUMENT THIS!!!!
CITE A QUOTE THAT IS LESS THAN EIGHT YEARS OLD!!!!!
Rush Limbaugh has never given a Rat's Ass about "The War on Drugs." He could care less. In fact, all the recent evidence is that he may favor drug legalization.
Compare this thread.

I'm no lawyer but I didn't know they convicted or sentenced people based on what they said about a certain activity.
My guess is that his housekeeper saved Rush's life and at the same time pretty well blew any possible prosecution of Rush by illegally taping him and by selling her story to the National Enquirer while the investigation was still going on. His high-octane defense attorney surely knows how to make hay of that.
Rush probably does face some legal proceedings but I would be surprised if they throw the book at him.

...mocking President Bill Clinton for not inhaling...Limbaugh was making a point about an obvious and shabby lie, not a point about drugs.

What hypocrites. Limbaugh was talking about recreational drug use, i.e. heroin, weed, coke, etc. He never said that people who wind up addicted to pain killers due to a treatment regimen should be punished.

I personally think that the vast majority of Americans find it repugnant to kick someone when they're down and I think that the feeding frenzy of the buzzards in the media is going to backfire on the RATs big time!

I see the left is glomming on. But the fact is, I have never heard Rush even talk about drugs, and certainly not attack people. Any person on the right is charges with being "hard line" (ie: you say what you mean ) That
is us people. I will continue to pray for Rush, and that doctors find a successful way to deal with pain for ALL their patients.

Libs suck. There is a HUGE difference between some poor patient who gets hooked on painkillers during the course of his medical treatment and a crack-dealing pimp (and/or his customers) standing on a street corner selling rocks of crack cocaine.
One does enormous damage to society, the other is a victim of, perhaps, both disease -- or injury -- and an inattentive physician. But first and foremost, pain patients are genuine victims who are to be pitied, unlike a crack addict, who is a victim of nothing but his own stupidity and criminality.
In Rush's case, the patient is the vicitm of an almost unbearably agonizing condition known as herniated disks. Such patients rarely do much damage to society (some can barely walk), particularly early on in their addiction when they are still able to work with the help of painkillers and are otherwise trying to lead normal lives. As for the indirect damage caused by their addiction: Can we please, in the name of mercy, lay that on their disease, their pushers and their inattentive doctors?

The one area that I was in disagreement with Rush was his stand on drugs. I found my opinions were more influenced by what Dr. Dean Edell had to say on the subject.
I believe our stupid drugs laws are partially responsible for Rush's addiction. In an attempt to prevent medical doctors from becoming "pill pushers" the FDA monitors their prescriptions of pain killers. If a doctor prescribes more than the government thinks he should, the doctor would find himself under federal investigation and could lose his medical licence. This causes most doctors to under medicate their patients.
Because of government policy many chronic pain sufferers are left without adequate relief from their pain. This forces them to seek alternative means of getting their medication.
The drugs that Rush has become addicted to are dangerous and should not be taken without a doctor monitoring the patient. But, if Rush's doctor was scared off, by FDA regulations then it was government's interference in his treatment that has lead Rush into his predicament. The irony of this would not be lost on Rush or his listeners.
I wish Rush a speedy recovery. If I had not stumbled across an over the counter food suppliment to help me with my chronic pain, I might have found myself following him into a dependence on pain killers.

This is Limbaugh's third time in rehab, Moniz adds. No it's not. Rush tried detox before...not rehab.
What a lying sack of you-know-what the media is!

Limbaugh said he started taking painkillers "some years ago" after a doctor prescribed them following a spinal surgery
Anybody remember him taking time off from his show for back surgery or even talking about back surgery

Please remember that Rush's fate is held in OUR hands not the hands of liberals. We, the listeners, will determine if Rush lives or dies on AM. The liberal media knows this, the liberal trolls on FR know this and they are attempting to "sway" your opinion of Rush since they themselves are powerless to remove him.
Remember this when you are reading a thread like this or listening to some "report" about Rush. YOU the "listener" are the target of the leftists PR. Whether or not you choose to be their willing dupe is up to you.

A man should walk his talk. If he doesn't, he ain't much of a man. This is what I was taught by my Father and my Grandfathers. Sorry, but I'm not a New Age Conservative.
I do feel sorry for Rush. I have enjoyed his radio programs from time to time. I hope he comes clean with the police investigators and not try to hide anything. He probably won't get any jail time if he does is my considered opinion.
