Actually, I'm a realist. Arnold won. He's better than Davis.

But he's still a liberal. That's reality.

There are good things to come from this. Davis is history. The national Dems took a hard shot to the chin. Some opportunities will arise in state government because more doors will be open to Republicans. The job of the Bush campaign is marginally easier next year. The job of the RATs is marginally harder.

But there is a downside as well. Prop 54, a commonsense postive move to reach toward our goal of a truly colorblind society, went down to defeat largely because of Schwarzenegger's opposition. Already, Riordon has opened his mouth about higher taxes. RINOs are salivating about nominating a pro-abort presidential ticket and changing the Reagan pro-life plank in the platform.

Winning a campaign is one thing. Governing is quite another. As I told someone here earlier, I wish nothing but the best for California. I hope your new Governor far exceeds all of my expectations and proves all of my fears utterly wrong. I will pray as often as I think of it that that will be the case.

Regards,
EV

Yeah - I was most disappointed about Prop. 54 - it could have passed if Arnold had supported it. It was so close.
