As I have stated before on this forum, my loyalties are to my family, to my nation and to my state - in that order.
I give no loyalties to political parties - smacks of communism/socialism/nazism. And I have to say, the pressure to be loyal to the "Party" and vote for Arnold has been very disturbing to me.

Great! Good luck. Close the door on the way out.
(p.s. Seriously, I wish you well!)

This is a friendly question, not a jab.

What has been clear from day one is that McClintock believed that this race was a primary, not a general election. He may be a true conservative, but he is not a true Republican.
McClintocks entire candidacy was a replay of Bob Doles, and basically boiled down to: Ive paid my dues and its my turn. Sorry, but thats not the way it works.
McClintock had a chance to be a part of this win, and maybe to have some real influence. Instead, arrogance, stubbornness and denial became his operational mandates. He wore them like a badge of courage. However, the electorate correctly judged them as personality traits that made him unfit to be governor.
The Republican Party of California finally did something right. It coalesced around an appealing candidate and helped get him elected in a landslide while tossing a bum governor to the curb. This win is really unprecedented in the history of not just California, but American politics.
Even Arnolds supporters (myself included) concede that he isnt the perfect candidate. However, there is not such thing as perfection. If we held our spouses, children, friends and business associates to the same standard we are supposed to hold our candidates, we would all live a very solitary existence. Out on the fringe... where McClintock now finds himself.
